i think Wall Street is probably the closer guess. Fear and Loathing was just released on blu by Universal.

Wall Street has also been released, by Fox. I'd lean toward "Fear and Loathing," since it's already in the Criterion library.

Yes, but Wall Street is an older blu-ray. Fear and Loathing just came out a few months ago. I would like to believe that Universal is going to allow them to release it, but I just think they're being tight butted.

I wouldn't be surprised by either, but I'd also slightly lean towards Wall Street. The last few months have had many "themes" and releasing Wall Street and The Game the same month might make sense.

ahh, didn't know they did that with directors before.
it just seems like out of all their collection and new films that could be added, releasing two films starring the same actor or directed by the same individual in the same month just kind of feels like overkill... or a bit of smothering.

i guess i would just like to see more variety and spread them out over a few months and not drop them both at the same time to keep things more interesting.

They do it with directors many times (Godard's Made in USA and 2 or 3 Things...), not counting things like the Kurosawa double set.
