They don't stack like that. It's better to use one at a time and they stack if you didn't get an exotic engram drop. So the next time you'll have more of a chance.

Some people on twitch were farming Thursday night and would get about 1-2 engrams for every 5 tries from farming Gatelord or Draksis.

Since I am not exploiting the system. It takes about 1 in every 5 coins in the vanguard strike list to get an exotic engram.

Bungie seriously messed up with this one. Since now there may not be much for people to play toward in terms of exotics, the experience will turn dull sooner.

Some folks on other forums have almost all the new exotics already.

It was about 1 out of every 3 kills exotic drop rate for me at the Scourge of Winter.

I can't fathom how Bungie never realized this was going to happen.

As far as keeping a player base hooked, this must be a serious downer to an otherwise awesome DLC release.

I would imagine this is going to be patched rather quickly. All they need to do is limit coins to strikes and raids. Problem solved.

Though they did say the drop rate was too high. That could be another way of saying that folks are rapidly defeating bosses in quick succession thereby increasing the odds per time frame.

I'm not sure how they missed this either. Did they not realize you can just get story mission checkpoints and do those over since those bosses are "Ultras"? I mean I could see making you do strikes as that's not as bad, but missions are compeltely different.

I disagree. I have 50 playing days on Destiny and if I get all the exotics so what. I spent days earning those strange coins and Bungie finally gave me a way to spend them. I play the game with a couple of friends because I enjoy playing with them. I wouldn't even play no more if my friends quit. People play for different reasons if it gets dull for them thats their fault if they get all the exotics to soon. Bungie is patching it Tuesday because of people crying over it.

No they are patching it because they realize they messed up. You can justify it as much as you want to but I doubt it was their intention to let players get most of the exotics in a single weekend.

I don't care how much destiny you have played to be honest. That time spent should not outweigh the fact that exotics are exotics, and they should have a significantly less acquiring rate than legendaries and rares. Xur is not going anywhere. You could still purchase engrams too and weapons with all your strange coins.

You can keep justifying it though

What do you mean by this? I have played maybe 12-14 vanguard strikes in a row and haven't seen an exotic yet.

Did you use your 3 coins per strike?

About 1 in every 5 coins (about 5 strikes could be less not sure) would net an exotic. Of those I have received 2 new helmets and gauntlets I think. Can't remember. I should have stated that that was my personal experience.

Was playing with mega in the strike list and he didn't get any.

Anyone know what that mission is that literally just says "Help with the War"? Even if I track it it doesn't direct me, I don't know what to do with it.

I just dont understand why it bothers you so much. Its just a game dont buy any three of coins if its gonna hurt the reason you play the game. I had every exotic in the game before Taken King and they made half of them obsolete anyway. I ain't trying to start a flame war just dont see why it bothers you.

Nah I am buying 3 of coins. Just not wanting to speed through it and take the cheap way out. I want to have things to work towards, and not everything handed to me on a silver platter.

Perhaps Bungie should have just sent all exotics to the postmaster

See thats the thing I aint getting anything handed to me I earned my 1000 strange coins. I might go spend everyone of them on three of coins before tuesday. I dont care if I get all the exotics to soon I will still play the game.

Yeah I do see the problem of sitting on so many coins. Xur should help a tad with that.
