Trailer looks OK. Nothing all that fantastic or exciting IMHO, but we'll see how it all pans out.

Decent teaser. But it didn't really wow me or make me feel better about the film, but it didn't make me feel worse either. It just sort of was. The film looks like it was beautifully shot, but it really sort of shied away from really showing their powers, or really understanding the film at all. Still, Trank did a great job with Chronicle, and I like the cast, so I will be there opening weekend. But the trailer didn't make me feel like I had to be. I'm mostly still just going because of the property it's based on and the cast.

...and people were mesmerized by the lame first trailer for Interstellar which showed nothing. Complain, complain, complain. Just admit it looks way better than what people were imagining.

Here's Doom in that trailer:

Umm...I wasn't wowed by the Interstellar teaser either. I've got no horse in the race, and I just want the movie to be good. But I'm not going to lie about my thoughts on the teaser, which I thought was merely ok. I didn't think it was that effective. It merely was. Maybe it would work better if we knew these characters and already had some sort of emotional attachment to them, much like the Days of Future Past teaser. But we don't know this iteration of the characters yet, and the long zoom ins on the characters like we should know and care about them doesn't gel right. But, it's look beautifully shot, and it has potential, it's just that the teaser didn't really do much to sway me yet. Doesn't mean the movie will be bad, I've seen plenty of bad teasers for good movies.

I think this looks like it may be pretty good. It is Definitely not the disaster everyone was claiming it to be. The only thing I don't like is that The Thing and Mr Fantastic look like they are in their mid 20's.

The actual visual look of the film looks pretty good, but the film itself doesn't excite me. In fairness, it's a teaser. It didn't show much. Reed got one line, and no one else spoke outside of a voice over (presumably Dr. Storm). I'm not feeling the movie right now. It doesn't look terrible -- a bit of a generic sci-fi, but my biggest problem is it didn't feel like the Fantastic Four. I think this will suffer from "dark and gritty!!" syndrome. I'll say that I already hate Miles Teller as Mr. Fantastic. I want to like this movie, but this teaser hasn't got me hyped. Even if it's not a "true" Fantastic Four movie, it doesn't look like a disaster. For me, right now, it's kind of just...there.

They all look to be in their 20s except for maybe 3 or 4 people in the entire trailer. But yes, it doesn't look like the train-wreck I was under the impression it would be, if half the 'leaks' were to be believed.

I replied before reading the thread and, like most times, we pretty much said the same things, Walt. But for me, they haven't gotten me in the theater just yet. A full trailer and reviews will determine if I see this in theaters or wait for a free Redbox rental. If it's a good movie -- and if it's "true to the spirit of the original comics" as Trank said -- I'll be able to get over it not being "my" Fantastic Four (I never liked the Ultimate FF iteration). I could get past dweeb Reed. I could get past the adoptive siblings. I could even get past Victor Domashev. I'll still think they could have adapted the Lee/Kirby stuff and made a great film, but all will be forgiven on my end if they actually made a good FF film despite the bigger changes. As mentioned the teaser looks like a generic sci-fi and doesn't pass as an FF film -- you wouldn't know this was the FF if the title didn't come up at the end -- so they still have to sell me quite a bit to get me to go see this.

At least the Thing is a decent size in this version. Hated that they made him so small in the previous two flicks.

I honestly think it looks pretty good. Love the music in the teaser. Definitely a more serious tone. That shot of Michael B. Jordan in the beginning was a bit cheesy. But overall, I'm liking what I see so far. For the people that are saying that it deosn't feel like a Fantastic Four movie, What are you comparing it to? The last two movies? The comics? Just curious...

I think Fox are trying way too hard to make this feel like X-Men in tone, because they hope to at some point to crossover and make a bigger universe like Marvel Studios has. But, one thing about Marvel that makes them interesting is that, despite all meshing well together and feeling like they're all in one conhesive world, each film, or at least each individual property, has its own unique identity and tone. Fox screwed the pooch here by not allowing the Fantastic Four to be the Fantastic Four. I wasn't a big fan of the earlier FF movies, but certain elements were right on. I love "dark and edgy," but I think they took it too far with this new incarnation, to the point of it seeming bland.

Looks way too dark and brooding if you ask me, looked like some kind of disaster movie.

Looks better than the previous 2 FF flicks + Darker and more serious tone = Color me intrigued

If I compare the recent trailer to Antman to this I'd have to say this wins me over more than that

I'm comparing the feel to the comics. The comics have a sense of adventure. Fun. Wonder. The fantastic. Basically, they have a "feel" of a Marvel Studios movie. For me, a perfect Fantastic Four film would be if Iron Man and Guardians of the Galaxy had a baby. This teaser doesn't "feel" like the FF because it's so dark, somber, gritty, and realistic. It seems more Batman Begins than FF. I'm not at all saying Fox should have copied Marvel's style and tried to make a Marvel Studios movie -- WB tried that with Green Lantern and look how that turned out -- I just don't think they should have made such a dark, serious, somber looking film. Even visually it screams "dark and gritty and serious!" which isn't what comes to mind when I think of the Fantastic Four. It almost feels like being embarrassed of the source material, a bit.

The music used in the trailer was from the U.K. series 'Broadchurch'

Watched the trailer. Will gladly give this one a pass. Left me completely uninterested in seeing the film.

Sue looks good full blond.

Teller and Jordan seem good.

It's just a teaser and it was a great one.

What? I could not disagree with you more. Watchmen was great and the trailer was totally different than this and nowhere near as good.

The new FF trailer makes me really appreciate this trailer so much more.

Doesn't look half-bad. Won't be watching any more trailers, as they have a tendency to spoil too much, but I'm a bit more optimistic about this now at least.

Well, if we don't see it in theatres, then we're one step closer to Marvel getting the Fantastic Four rights back.

Roger Corman had his shot,
Tim Story had his,
Now we're getting Josh Trank's...

After three failed attempts, the 4th time is a charm.
