I didn't realize you could just equip it back and forth. That should help.

Do any of you guys actually have the gun? I just googled all of the steps and it seems very labor-intensive to acquire. I'm curious if it's even worth it?

I deleted the quest for a later time. Too much else that "needs" to be done right now.

You only get the gun at reset. I have heard it is "meh".

When you are onto the special shield brothers strike quest step, let me know, and we can knock it out together. Apparently it is quite challenging, you have to finish the shield bros off with a shotty, it is a higher level strike.

The shotty is a slug shot one, with I think max 7 rounds (with field scout)? The perks are not too great either as they only proc with precision kills (at least one of them does), like 3 in a row or something dumb like that.

The quest will give you fits if you keep it equipped at all times, I chose to not have fits. Does the quest go to your abandoned quests? Maybe try finish it before next reset.

Welcome to a badass game that's not super addicting at all.

I'm in the L.A. area myself, so it would be a welcome addition to have another person in the same time zone. All these east coasters make's it difficult for me sometimes. You know, like planning out a raid while I'm sill getting Zzzzz's.

Anyways, picking up this game right now is a great idea. The Taken King expansion has made Destiny much better than it used to be. It's not hard or slow to level up to 40, but it's a bit slow trying to get to the highest light level in the game. But like others said, there's a bunch of people here that would be more than willing to help you out, myself included.

The Taken King expansion is a 17GB file, so it could take you a couple hours to download. Add me if you buy the game. PSN below.

I don't think you want to be doing that with this quest, unless you are some boss MLG player. Any false step you die and lose your progress, and in crucible death comes in so many flavors you will want to frisbee your controller.

Trying to dunk into a rift is begging to lose progress.

Sorry, I was just going by what others said in terms of who was available/ being left out of the other raid tonight. Definitely didn't intentionally leave you out of being a part of it. I was trying to do it tonight, but it didn't seem like it would happen. You available tonight?

I stopped playing entirely shortly after Crota expansion, and never finished it. I picked up the game for the first time in something like 8 months the weekend before TTK came out. Between that and TTK coming out I level up 2 toons all the way to the end of Year 1. TTK came out on Tuesday, and by Friday I had one of my toons over 290.

The game is a fast run up to a slow grind.

You're doing better than I am. I seem to be running around aimlessly with no clear path of what I "need" to be doing. I need to read some Reddit threads and get some direction. I also need to get raid ready as there's no doubt that the raid will drop the best gear again.
