After they rejected his ideas, Lucas bowed out. Yeah, Abrams and Kennedy probably talked to him about specifics of the Force and other SW details but in terms of plotting out the story and where it's suppose to go, nope. Lucas had no input and he stayed out of it.

Again, would bet serious money that the only thing that survived his outlines were a variation on Kylo Ren and Rey.

Conceptually I reckon the Prequels are quite interesting, in terms of execution, the acting is hard to get by. But I do enjoy the films as each entry comes along. I like the political chess game to say the least. I reckon George may have had some gems brewing.

I'm very interested to hear what his idea for episode VII is. While I'm not willing to look past Jar Jar, Jedi Rocks and some of his other blunders, he knew how to make Star Wars feel like Star Wars. Something I really missed from the episode VII we got.

[Show spoiler]Ya know, I really don't mean to get at this film in this manner but something just struck me about character and logic...if you're Han Solo and you know that your son is reeking havoc across the galaxy, why did you return to smuggling?

I get that Kylo going to the Dark Side and slaughtering Luke's newly formed Jedi Academy is a blow that would tear any family apart. I get that. But, why are you not out there doing everything you can to stop what he's become? Why, even with all the emotional baggage you have between Leia, are you not by her side, leading the way to stop him from doing anymore harm? Don't you have a responsibility to do that? Were you not once General Solo during the Great War?

Saw this last night. I liked it. I didn't love it. It has a lot of little annoying plot issues and a few weird moments, plus I thought it felt a little rushed and too harmonious with A New Hope (though I am sure that was intentional). Rey is a great female hero for young women today, loved that part of it. A 10-or-so year old girl sat by me in the theater and I loved that she could identify with Rey.

All that aside though, MAN it's like a real movie this time. Good dialog! Interesting characters! Great performances! Interesting cinematography! Everything the prequels lacked, which makes it pretty much instantly better for anyone with a critical cinematic eye. Obviously I also loved the plethora of practical effects and realistic locations as well. It's funny that real film-making techniques are such a step-up, as if we shouldn't expect that from every big budget movie.

I'll save the rest for the spoiler thread, but in the end I liked it. Probably lies between the two trilogies for me at this point, but I'll need repeat viewings and some reflection to really rate it.

Snoke is
[Show spoiler]Luke. Luke realized that the force needs balance. The image Snoke we see in the movie is just smoke and mirrors. Han being killed wasn't part of his grand plan but happened nonetheless. This will be the big twist for Episode 9.

Sorry for not doing a thread search first. thanks
l live in Melbourne, Australia and l can tell you that $18 for Imax 3D is an absolute bargain. Most theatres here charge $18-$20 for a regular 2D viewing. If l wanted to see it in Imax 3D l would have to pay $32-$42 per adult

I saw it in Imax 3D here in Aus but I only pay $13 a ticket. I get my tickets through Optus Movie Rewards for $11 and then the cinema charges an extra $2 on top for Imax. I was also getting LUX directors suite tickets for $20 at one stage...they went up to $25 now...still good tho...free unlimited drink and popcorn.

Ha!

Nope. That doesn't make any narrative sense.

Where are people getting these glasses? My theater only had the standard reald glasses in the blue plastic. I'd love a pair of there's, especially since they'd work with my passive 3d tv.

I think they are exclusive to Cinemark in the US. All 4 pairs for $12. Not a bad deal.

Of course, it seems there are no Cinemark theaters on Long Island.

Stormtrooper glasses are the hardest to find. I almost gave in but saved my money for the soundtrack.

I was thinking about going again today, but considering that it is 5 dollar Tuesday here in Utah, basically every single showing I can find is sold out.

What a douchebag (the nicotine addict, not you). F'ing weak people and their drug addictions.

Someone actually vaped in my second screening too. It was bizarre. They were up a few rows behind me, and we're asked to not do it, or leave the theater.

I actually had a guy in front of me vaping at the Lethal Weapon screening the other night. It was crazy...
