Not to worry; the coming mandatory night time power outages will prevent it from gaining any traction.

You don't even stream, so why you care at all is one of those great unsolvable mystifying mysteries.

I just can't get used to digital other than the sometimes lower prices and deals I can find on new releases.

Then get ready to add more rooms and storage space for your Collection. Since 4K UHD will be the last Physical Media you might be in luck. Then all you have to do is upgrade and replace your existing Discs.

Why do you insist on repeatedly saying such ridiculous things? You do not need to add on extra rooms to your home to accommodate a disc library.

If stonesfan129 is showing us the true size of his collection, he currently only owns 132 titles on disc. Even if he has a modest size home, he is nowhere near to having storage problems. His entire collection does not quite fill two shelves of just one of my storage units.

Contrast that with my collection of 8,124 titles on all disc formats including laserdiscs. I have never had to add any rooms to my home and I do not foresee ever needing to do so even at the rate that I buy physical media.

You do not even know how many discs you have with your claiming anywhere from owning "over 700" to owning "thousands"; how many rooms have you had to add to your home?

He does not have to replace and upgrade his existing discs, either; that is entirely optional.

Even if 4K disc is the last physical format it will remain superior to anemic bitrate starved streaming.

Pizza fell through - maybe for the weekend. What didn't fall through was the excellent Escape From L.A. BD.

What does baked in mean? Prime is going to hook me up with five or ten strangers who are going to chat while I'm trying to watch The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel or something?

That sounds horrible. I hope that doesn't happen.

For steedeel, I hope they force him to watch vertically framed movies on his phone with a group of chatty millenial vegans.

That shouldn't be that bad. Movies are only going to be like four minutes long soon.

Just buy it and support the 3D format, especially domestic releases of vintage 3D films! It looks like fun and the reviews for the 3D effects are excellent.

I am still doing my American history documentary thing; I'm only up to the Civil War, so it may be awhile before I get around to watching this little gem.

I do have documentaries about the westward expansion of the U.S.; maybe I can work this movie into that portion of my history odyssey? It looks like a very authentic and historically accurate movie.

My kids love Tic Tok with maximum 15 second videos.

I watched the first episode of Love Life on the HBO Max service and found the PQ to be bad. Not sure it's interesting enough to try another episode.

That's not accurate. My collection is about 350 movies and some TV shows. I usually toss the cases and put the discs into those 300-disc Case Logic binders under my TV cabinet. I have room for probably 10 of them in there which is a good 3000 discs. I can't see myself owning that many movies. My collectible or rare discs I keep the cases in a shelf.

I thought that once, too, and here I am.

I have no regrets; I love having a great selection at my fingertips.

While one collects more its also becomes more that you don't watch that often.

But rediscovery is great when you forget about what you haven't seen in a long while.

Been trying to persuade him to watch the final series of Twin Peaks so we can discuss it but no joy!

It has never been about how often I will watch a given movie, but how much I enjoy that movie when I do watch it.

To put it another way, I'd would rather experience 10,000 different movies once than to see 2,000 movies five times each.

I do re-watch plenty of my movies; never underestimate the free time afforded by retirement, but watching something that I have never seen often takes precedence over still another viewing of, say, The Lord Of The Rings. Other excellent movies, like Schindler's List or The Killing Fields, are too sad to watch very often.

I will get to it. I watch everything that I buy, but not necessarily when I buy it.

I have the wrong kind of pie here at the moment, honey apple, so that just won't do.

Couldn’t agree more. I re-watched the 4K Ex Machina this afternoon, and appreciated that movie so much more the 2nd time through. Even though I watched it originally on Blu-ray when it came out 5 years ago, I picked up more details the 2nd time though. Well worth a double dip, especially since I grabbed it at Target for $7.50.

Hi guys. I haven't frequented this thread for a while. I have some sad news to give to you. One of my aunts had died in hospital from breast cancer on Wednesday. Her private funeral mass had taken place in Dublin on Friday morning. I only got the news tonight after one of my other aunts told my mother over the phone. It has left me completely stunned. I asked my mother did she have Covid-19 before she died. She said to me that 'no, she had died of cancer'. I hope she is at peace now from her pain.
