Well, I think so; assuming there really will be no other release of the director's cut. I quite enjoyed this version, and found it watchable. (I have a 50 inch LG plasma.) There were only a couple of scenes that were so poor it took me out of the film.

I know others on here have posted different opinions ( "coaster.") However, I'm an older collector, and clearly remember the days when your only option for many films were 4th generation VHS dupes from Video Search of Miami for $25, so maybe I can handle more "problematic" transfers better than some.

There are many Blu-rays that were regularly sold under $10 that now cost over $75 on eBay/Amazon. Booberry is not going to be selling the carrier for $9.99 for eternity (in fact, it looks like he is sold out - cheapest copy is now $25), and Dark Force and Code Red are now the only first party sellers of the disc - it will then be up to Dark Force / Code Red to decide if they want to sell at a higher price more slowly or lower price more quickly. In this case, the reason there will be a scarcity price bump is that the Directors Cut of the Carrier which is (reportedly) not going to be repressed. Whether or not you didn't like the less than ideal PQ doesn't matter to fans of the film who are excited about having the definitive directors cut of the film. Its still a very watchable BD and the Directors Cut is a superior movie to the theatrical cut with the DC esepecially having a much better ending. Even if a new BD comes out with the theatrical cut fixed, if this Blu-ray of the carrier remains the only one with the working directors cut, it will be a collectors item and there is no way of getting around that fact; the only way this Blu of the Carrier will not be a collectors item is if the Directors Cut is rereleased on another Blu-ray edition (seems unlikely based on rights situation).

My personal guess on this sale is that Diabolik clearanced their remaining stock to booberry just to make room for other stuff, as Diabolik went from over 30 in stock to sold out in less than a week.

Well of course nothings official but because of the long history that goes all the way back to when CR was only selling DVDs, the_exterminator would always pop up with numerous genuine sealed copies of long OOP stuff (ie from storage) so people assumed it was Bills neighbor or other associate. Maybe in exchange for helping him mail stuff? Heh.
