Didn't care for Rambo V but if I have to own it to get Parts I-IV so be it.

Someone mentioned the burnt-in subs. That's a big deal, along with the IG audio.

At this point I'm just not buying any releases day 1 anymore with the amount of re-releases we're seeing lately. Yeah I know this is nothing new, but I didn't expect UHD to get new editions this quickly. Could honestly be considered a positive sign for the format as a whole I suppose.

Oh, I know, but a picture’s worth more than a thousand words and even though the forthcoming trilogy set will probably offer an exclusive level of audio/video quality, I bet it won’t best that FIRST BLOOD set for packaging orgasmia, so I’m getting both.

I'm no longer buying any new Studio Canal releases on day one.

The UHDs aren’t full of typos, but rather they are inaccurate. They’d put the subs as “They attacked me first”.

Why does part 2 not look as crisp as first blood? Is it because of the Afghanistan locations? there is so much inconsistency it's distracting.

You're confusing Part II with III... Second Blood was Vietnam, Third Blood was Afghanistan... Having said that, Rambo II has always had a soft-focus look to it ; it gives off a extra sense of humidity. The diffused image was very much a Jack Cardiff method, but I often wonder who agreed to it... I'm guessing Stallone ; the original cinematographer was the guy who won an Oscar for Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet, but Stallone had him fired. He was known for being very particular about the way he was shot back then.

The German steelbook reissue of First Blood features the new featurettes „Ein langer Weg: 40 Jahre Rambo First Blood“ (The Long Road: 40 Years of First Blood) and „Jäger und Gejagter: Der Soundtrack von First Blood“ (Hunter and Hunted: The Soundtrack of First Blood).
