I wonder if Arrow might consider one of the Cannibal films, namely Cannibal Ferox........they have not really dipped their toe into this Genre yet?

It's highly unlikely the BBFC would pass Cannibal Ferox uncut in the U.K. They wouldn't even allow Man from Deep River to be released uncut by 88 Films, and that's one of the tamer cannibal films.

That good was it? I was thinking of a blind buy as everything about it ticks a lot of boxes for me. I could wait about 4-6 months longer for it to appear in a 3 for £20 deal with Amazon/HMV.

I have no idea who has the rights to it in UK at the moment, but as OrchidClub writes, there's little chance it would pass the BBFC unscathed.

It was last rated in 2000 and got an 18 rating with a 6 second cut. That cut, however, concerns gratuitous violence against an animal, so it's very unlikely to be waived. While Cannibal Holocaust had most of its cuts reinstalled a few years ago, the one that remains is of the exact same nature.

Personally, I don't see Arrow acquiring this under these circumstances, and you can add to this the fact that the US rights are hold by Grindhouse Releasing.

Sorry cant say what I thought of it as I sold it sealed and unwatched (got it as part of my gold backer perk). Had no interest in it personally (similar to the upcoming Hired to Kill, the two released Kosugis, The Mutilator and the AHP boxset).

It is too bad they had low sales for White of the Eye and Phantom of the Paradise.

I own the steelbooks for both first week buys.

Yeah it's a shame. The sad fact is that a lot of releases from small companies are lucky to sell even 500-1000 copies, so I can only imagine what something like White Of The Eye would've sold in the UK.

Does the Outlaw Gangster set have ratings on the spine?

Really considering a blind buy, simply because I like Japanese cinema.

I'm not sure I like that label to be honest. It's not like Arrow don't put out critically acclaimed works as well - as is mentioned in the article they put out something for everyone, not just B-movie slashers or stuff like that.

No ratings logo on the spine.

Does come with a pack of gum and a non-permanent tattoo version of the ratings logo, so you can stick it on your arm and be ultra cool.

Watched The Zero Boys last night. Quite a based little film and different to how the trailer makes it out to be.
Its nice and tightly edited so moves along fast and without any boring parts, its not really a horror its more of a thriller but does have some splashes of horror sprinkled throughout, oh and the Stereo soundtrack is surprisingly good with good separation and panning effects.

Yeah the AQ is very good on Zero Boys. However, I found the movie to be dragging a lot, it felt like the pace (especially the 1st 50 min) was just nowhere to be found.
Oh and if you want to start your movie that badly, don't make it last almost 10 min. It almost made me turn off the movie.
