I was pretty scared going into the Nightfall but thankfully I paired up with a couple of really good dudes. We had the boss's health down to about 25% and they both died at the same time. I thought "welp, I'm gonna choke. We're screwed" thankfully my super was ready and I was able to hold off the surrounding Vex with my Hammer of Sol long enough to revive them both. Killed the boss about 5 minutes later no problemo. It also helped that they both had Black Spindle.

I was not scared, but I was also the weak link with a couple of much better dudes (see above). But we prevailed, and it was a blast.

Also have to thanks for the lessons about the Gunsmith, got him ranked up before quitting. And using motes of light to rank up a faction. And exchanging some material for motes of light. And the suggestion to pick up Truth, because it was blatantly obvious that I needed a tracking rocket launcher, and I was reminded that I needed to spend some Marks, as I was at 191. I'm just like a NOOB.

I want to reaffirm, I won't need my ascendant shards for anything else, and I can trade them all in for about 66 more motes of light?

Okay, I also misspoke to you guys earlier. Reviewed my notes, and this is what I learned.

Same weapon does the same max damage irrespective of the player's light level, at least within a range of +/- 10, against enemies who are below your level. I have to test a larger range yet. I also need to test two of the same weapons with different damage ratings to see, if they scale linearly.

Anyway, what this means is that as far as your damage dealt with a particular weapon, it does not matter whether you are light 281 or light 288. So, you don't have to worry about a penalty to the damage you can do with your chosen weapon, based on the other items you have equipped, and their respective light ratings.

Is that clear?

While I can not test it, I would wager that swapping a higher light weapon for a lower light weapon does not affect the damage resistance imparted by your armor choices.

What's the deal with marks not rewarding? I have done strikes and now the nightfall and have gotten the shaft on a few occasions. I know some activities only reward marks once per day, but I still sometimes don't get them. It's taking forever to build them up.

Finally got to start the raid with my buddies. We had a lot of fun in the process since we were all going in blind. We managed to find one hidden chest and get to the

A lot of fun and can't wait to finally get started because I'm sure we just scratched the surface.

Trade in every ascendant and radiant material you have for motes of light.

I was low man on the killing totem pole again I guess it's because I was mostly sniping but man I didn't even get 100 kills. Guess that's just my play style just kinda hang back and serve as backup. I'm glad we were able to complete it without to much hassle.


I'm going to jump on long enough tonight to do the daily's and maybe do a couple of bounties if I have time. Gonna save my strength for Thursday night!

I like this strategy I can do the Titan with the bubble and I have that shotgun that if I use it in the Ward of dawn it doesn't expelling ammo. Hey Robert what do you think, get two Titan defenders with those shotguns take down this boss ASAP then clear the room with the time remaining?
