As long as you are using any modern surround (5.1, 7.1, etc) receiver that's fine. The only potential issue is you had an OLD receiver that didn't have a dedicated subwoofer output jack.

Should i use Y adapters on the subs, to plug both left and right? Or is just one cable going to the left is fine?

Just use either input, no need to split the cable and use both inputs unless the upstream device(receiver in this case) has an unusually low signal strength. If this is the case, splitting the signal will add 6dB of gain to the signal.

As far as subwoofer cables are they all similar? I see ones at best buy for 40 to 50 a pop and mono price has ones for 5 bucks.

I would not spend a whole lot on that cable. Yes, you want a good quality cable for an analog signal but since it is for a subwoofer, you are only dealing with low frequencies anyway, less than 200 Hz, so practically any coax cable will work just fine. I'd buy the monoprice cable and put the extra money towards something else.

The monoprice cables work fine. There will never be any type of subtle performance difference in "bass details" or "subtle nuance". If the subwoofer cable isn't shielded properly you may experience humming or RF noise from the sub.

So I have a single SB-2000 that I really enjoy, but recently when playing some test BD scenes from USB (where I can quickly see differences in the type of bass that different movies are outputting), I've felt like I crave a deeper response. I've been wanting to go dual but before I buy another SB, I decided to not keep lurking on this thread and ask for an assist.

I definitely want to stay with a sealed design because I absolutely love the musicality and response speed of my SB. It hides well when the material doesn't need much below 120 Hz (where my crossover is set) and then quickly surprises me when more is asked of it. Point blank, I'd like to have depth in the bass spectrum and keep it clean when I have music playing or when a movie scene has quick nuances that differentiate one sub from another.

I've seen a lot of the "XS15se compares to the SB13 Ultra" statements and have no reason to dismiss them, so I'm wondering if I'd like to move in the PSA direction....

You can compare all the measurements on the sb13u and the XS15se at http://www.data-bass.com/home

How large is the listening room and are there any large openings into the rest of the home?

Thanks for the link. The numbers are indeed promising.

The listening area has a vaulted ceiling, 12 feet maybe. Not sure of the measurements, though. The wall behind the listening area only comes a third of the width of the room, as it opens into a small dining area and the kitchen.

Given the room environment have you considered a ported model? If action oriented movies are occasionally enjoyed at loud to VERY loud volume levels something like the XV15se at $899 or the XV15 at $699 would be my first two picks.

Just got my dual XS15Se, thanks again Tom!
I had bought Auralex Gammas to put them on, since I have apartment neighbors underneath me. Should I take the feet off the subs? And if so how do I go about that? Otherwise I could put the sub on top of the gamma with the feet on, but not sure that makes sense.

Congrats. You'll love them

Leave the feet on.

Congrats on the dual XS15se, Mike! Properly calibrate them and enjoy

Starkscream: with free shipping both ways, there is no harm in ordering one and trying it in your house, with your equipment and see if you like it. Oh, and I doubt you would return it. You better start saving for the second one.

Leave the feet on, removing them will cause 4 air leaks.

The majority of the bass transmission to other room will be due to the sound waves the subwoofer(s) produce. Nothing to do with decoupling the sub from the floor. It can't hurt to experiment though.

You and about 30 others...

I've been getting calls/chats just about every day from folks wanting to be put on the "pre order" list. Now that we're caught up with the ICE product orders we should be able to get this finalized quickly.

Thanks for the interest!

Hi all,

We're offering the Anti Mode 8033S-II and the Anti Mode 2.0 Dual Core now. If you package either with one or two subs you get a nice discount on the sub purchase too..

Thanks. Do you expect this model to be around a bit, or more than the one run? Reason I ask is I figure it will be an August purchase for me with all the upgrades I just did. I will not be able to get on the preorder obviously.

Should be around for years. So August will be fine.

Thanks. I was figuring it as a "flagship" and long term model, so that gives me time.
