It's always worth checking the threads for this kind of info, I put it into the first posts wherever I can:

That’s where I got mine. It came to US$37.50 total w/ shipping to California, US. About $19 per film (not bad) and they were on 2 discs instead of mushed into one.

Just watched Cease Fire. It has some very nice photography that made me wonder how they put this all together. There are some amazing shots that must have been difficult to set up with the technology of the time. There's also lots of 3D pron with various sized weapons pop outs. The best is when the main tank guns came directly towards me into my living room and I literally felt like ducking lol.

When the disk arrived I had a quick look through and found the script and acting a little stilted. The movie has a few minor issues, especially with the final battle, but overall it is simple and coherent and I found myself interested. There's one poor guy you know is going to die as soon as his story is told but there are some genuine moments of tension which surprised me. The movie ends poetically with a new chapter in the young man's story.

I don't know if I will ever watch this again, but I'm glad I have seen it.

The last thing I watched was Beauty and the Beast. The classic animated film. I think it looks great in 3D. The cinematography and some of the set pieces already lend itself to good 3D. Like the way the "camera" pans around characters and objects; and zooms in through foliage. The library and ballroom scenes have a ton of depth and look huge. The rain and snow scenes look nice too with it appearing to fall in front of the screen. I wish we had gotten more classic Disney and Pixar films in 3D, but really happy with the ones we got!

Finally watched GVK 3D and thought I would post my thoughts.

First of all, I thought the 3D was solid without being spectacular. Depth was medium for the most part with good separation.
Nothing of any real note pop out wise, just some bog standard debris and snowflakes.
Like others have said, the 3D was at its best in the big smackdowns.

Film wise, it’s the second best of the series for me, although that’s not saying a great deal. I still put Skull Island way out in lead film AND 3D wise.

We all know what we are getting with these films and it delivered the thrills surrounded by a load of nonsense lol.

For reference:

Skull Island film 4/5 3D 5/5
GVK film 3/5 3D 3/5
Godzilla film 2.5/5 3D 4/5
KOTM film 2.5/5 3D 3/5

It depends on the taste and equipments.

For me Skull Island has great use of 3D, storywise is good but some action scenes are dumb just to make people engage on what is happening.

Godzilla vs Kong has also great use of 3D, storywise is a little down from Skull Island but still enjoyable.

Godzilla is where everything began, 3D is good but storywise is awesome, they don't goof around in that movie.

King of the Monsters has the environmental elements to deal with the action which affected the photography not only the 3D, storywise the human elements and science jibber-jabber could be cut a little but the action is well developed.

I also like that they made Godzilla as a racional being instead of just a brute force of nature that any reptile is. And in Godzilla vs Kong, Godzilla giving Kong a break after both had to deal with MechaGodzilla just let a tiny space that in the future they can be indifferent to each other or they may fight to really set who's king on Earth.

I forgot to tell that i only saw Godzilla King of the Monsters 3D at the cinema and left before the post-credit scene , i still don't own a blu-ray 3D copy. I have to get that movie in my collection.

If Kong Skull Island didn't have those dumb moments it would be a great 3D movie.

It really is. It was very ‘old school adventure’ but with modern FX. It captured the spirit of Kong much better than PJ’s remake imo.

Watched The Legendary Dragon. Good 3D, the movie is OK, just don’t expect too much. The production values are high even if the acting isn’t. Can recommend if you don’t expect a great movie, I made it all the way through, so I would say only a buy for the serious collector.

Edit: limited pop outs and region free. It looked more like a gecko than a dragon.

It was a great 3D movie with far less dumb moments than the other three IMO. The story was leagues better and actually made sense. Plus, the first one hardly had Godzilla in it at all. At least it had a good performance from Bryan Cranston. But, like Godzilla, he didn’t get enough screen time.
