Vietnam is a gorgeous nation. I'd visit there gladly, but it's hard for a national treasure like myself to leave the country.

I exclaim that the "flood gates are open!" whenever I take a really long piss. The studios love all of their many revenue streams.

I guess that is one way to look at it, like Steedeel says, I saw this coming. I think it's great that First Run Movies are coming to Streaming, the HT is getting better all the time. Bring It On!

Here are some warble tones I made awhile back for quick checks of sub-woofers. They are provided in .FLAC format here. The tones start at 16Hz and end at 250Hz, they are on ISO ⅓ octave centers, span ⅓ octave for each center and warble at a 5Hz rate. Each tone is preceded by a voice announcement stating the center frequency, is recorded at -6dB below 0dBFS using 16bit, 48KHz. Each tone last 11 seconds and that includes a ½ second fade in and ½ second fade out. This was done so it will not cause thumps at the beginning and end of each tone.
I love this type of stuff. Very cool approach Wendell.

Lots of old farts still take the newspaper, but not this particular one; I went digital years ago. I sure never thought that I would type that line in any context ever.

Yes I get the weekend paper, and Digital too. My wife likes the printed weekend ads, and I like the Digital version, easier to read.

Hey Donster. How is the “Reboot” going for you? Things are pretty much the same here with a few bans thrown in for everyone’s entertainment.

Hope all is well with you and your family.

Added Nvidia Shield Pro 2019 and Roku Ultra 2019 streamers to my racks and now streaming less.

The Mountain Laurel is blooming and Catawba Rhododendron is blooming at higher elevations so we try to tour the mountains as much as we can during this period. The Rose Bay Rhododendron should start blooming in a couple of weeks so that will give us some more touring time.

Hi Donster good to hear from you, what is going on is life treating you well now? Do you have good Internet? The Streaming Wars are on, and The Studios are putting more First Run Movies there with VOD. What kind of a setup do you have now, are you buying 4K Discs or Streaming? Take care talk to you soon.

There is no wars, unless someone try's to motivate you to buy something that is only on physical media and not streaming.

The rest of us that watch what we want by whatever we choose don't have to reassure ourselves that it is getting better all the time.

Hopefully this will brighten Steedeel's day a little bit. I thought it was rather good news myself.

VerizonGo90 was a very similar idea to that of Quibi and it failed spectacularly in June 2018. It, too, was aimed at millenials who apparently were very

Quibi most likely will join the ash heap of failed streaming services.

"Katzenberg and Whitman and reports that the short form video subscription service had been projecting that it would sign up 7.4 million subscribers in its first year of operation. Instead, at the service’s current pace, it is estimated it will not even reach 2 million paying subscribers by that point."

I'm ok with a format war if it goes like the Coke/Pepsi war (Allegedly both sponsored by the American Dental Association) and both steaming and physical are available forever more.

I don't mind if people like steaming. I would like people to know there is something better.

I do have a big problem with places selling things they don't own. iTunes can sell movies that they don't own and I think it should be called an extended rental which is what it is. I was fooled by it. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I learned and hopefully everyone else will as well. I'm hopeful the sale of Vudu creates lots of problems so that people become more aware of the terms and conditions they agreed to.

Many of them do know; they just don't care. Cheap and convenient wins out almost every time.

Many of the "first run movies" of which you speak are just direct to video fodder that would have never seen a theatrical release anyway.

Just how often have you been partaking of these PVOD rentals priced at $19.99 each? Knowing how cheap you are, I doubt that you have paid for a single one. You're probably waiting for someone to buy the disc, when available, so that you can then buy the code for cheap on this forum.

What Vilya said. Been this way for many years. Starting in the mid 80's I showed many people the superior picture of LaserDisc but most all of them were content with their video cassettes or “I will wait till XYZ is on HBO or Showtime.”
