I would be very surprised if there is no disc release. That would be leaving a good bit of money on the table.

HBO Max Touts Exclusive June 26 SVOD Premiere of ‘Scoob!’ Before Disc

Quote:
HBO Max is flexing its content muscle in the streaming wars.

The Warner Bros. animated feature Scoob! will have its exclusive U.S. SVOD premiere on HBO Max June 26 — almost a month before its July 21 disc release and a little over a month after its premium VOD debut May 15 because of the pandemic.

HBO Max, which debuted May 27, is the direct-to-consumer offering of the studio’s parent company WarnerMedia.
Scoob! was set to be the first “Scooby-Doo!” animated feature film released theatrically May 15, but with the coronavirus pandemic shutting down theaters it was instead released through premium VOD and digital sellthrough. Its release on SVOD before disc breaks longstanding windows between the two formats in which disc release typically has preceded streaming.

It will be DVD-only, Target-exclusive, and with different covers depicting each member of the team, with member-specific extras on each respective version of the release, and there will also be Funko Pop versions of those member-specific extra-packed releases, with exclusive digital download codes that redeem the film in HD.

That would just be torture.

If my neighbor hasn't cancelled or changed her HBO password by then I will check it out.

Clearly,... it's not a priority.

Maybe HBO Max will have 4K someday. It is kind of fun to have UHD BD of HBO content like Game of Thrones and Westworld ...

After getting the service on Roku I suppose that would come first.

I can’t stand Hugh Grant, I think he is a one trick pony. It was sad about Charlotte Coleman who played Scarlett. She died of a asthma attack years ago. I will always remember her from the fantastic children’s tv show, Worzel Gummidge.

You and me both. He doesn't seem to play anything else other than upper-class twits, so he's not much of an actor in my opinion. I haven't watched Four Weddings And A Funeral in a long time, so I forgot about that "Is it Raining" line.

I can’t remember who spoofed it but they had huge buckets of water thrown at the comic and she was drenched and barely able to talk but she got that famous line out! So funny mate!

Ah yes, that was Graham Norton - brilliant sketch. Here it is on YouTube:

Probably better than the "Baby in the Corner" line from Dirty Dancing.

I was thinking more Dawn French. Maybe I imagined it or got my wires crossed.

Regardless, it was cringe worthy!

Another bad line is in the Texas Chainsaw 3D remake/sequel. When the girl says to Leatherhead, “ Go on bro, do your thing!”

Watch Bitter Moon instead.

To be fair I think he's moved beyond playing upper class flops more recently, been good in several TV dramas and whilst the film wasn't great managed to prop up The Gentleman camping it up.

You may well be right mate - I'm sure this scene would have been spoofed by a few comedians over the years. I only remembered the Norton sketch after you mentioned the bucket of water being thrown while that famous line was being delivered.

Several Samsung Blu-ray players worldwide have suddenly started to fail within the past few days, stuck in an undefeatable restarting frenzy! I have one player at home affected, does anyone here with any Samsung players also got hit with this? What do you make of it, what could have possibly happened here?

Video above is not mine.

Personally, I was thrilled when Samgung exited the disc player market. These players should self destruct because no one should be trying to use a Samsung disc player. (Even if it's curved to match the TV and Sound bar.)

My friend had the first Samsung Blu Ray player model made. He was thrilled to get open box for $850, MSRP was around $1000. We did every FW update ever hoping some day it would work .... it never did. At the time my PS3 for $600 was a great value as BDP were $1000-ish.

Sony was my recommendation to everyone at the time. Now I have a flakey Sony UHD BD player so Panasonic is my recommended player.

Yeah, Samsung players remind me of Amstrad back in the day. Bloody useless imo.

If I were you, I would go out and get a PlayStation 4 and I very much doubt you will have any issues after that. You can get one for £250.
