I am going to the Imax for this....
I saw "The Dark Knight" twice and Watchmen there.

I highly suggest getting there at least 2 hours early to make sure you get the ideal seat.

Trust me, this is going to be a huge deal....It is only the second movie filmed with actual imax cameras....The Dark Knight was the first. I believe 6 scenes in TDK were shot in imax....Transformers will have 4...All the other movies are just on a bigger screen in letterbox..When the Imax scenes start the screen pans out even bigger.....

It my friends is going to be awesome....

Me and a buddy arrived late for The Dark Knight at the local IMAX and trust me it sucks sitting in the very front along the side. We arrived late because we had to wait for his big fat obnoxious wife to return from the DPS office. We didn't think it was gonna be crowded because it was a Monday afternoon and most people are at work. Thats a sign unemployment is high. The only way I'm going to see Transformers 2 at IMAX is if I preorder and arrive one hour early....No exceptions.

In fact, I couldn't see anything that close and had to keep my head turning left and right. Never again.........Never.

I'm definitely going to be there and will probably be lining up two and a half hours early. I saw The Dark Knight a couple times on IMAX when it came out, and there were always tons of people lined up even 2 hours before the show. I don't expect it to be any different with Transformers, so I'll be there early.

I'm going on the 25th at IMAX. It's gonna be great. Going during the day and getting there early. Hopefully to beat the croud. Some friends and I saw Star Trek at IMAX and we got there 10 minutes before it started, and had to sit in the very front row. It sucks hard core! Everyones faces looked long and when the action was on the screen, it was all just a blur that close. So, anyone who goes, do yourself a favor and get there early.

Or just go to a theater with reserved seating. Arrive 2 minutes before showtime, walk right to your perfect preselected seat. Only way I go now.

Did you know if you buy the "Regal Entertainment Group" movie tickets at Costco (the blue unrestricted ones)which run about $14-15 for 2 tickets, you can use them for Imax movies... Its like a buy one get one free movie for Imax! It works here in San Diego without any other box office charge at the ticket booth... Just check with your local Imax theatres that is Regal, Edwards or United Artists Theatres... Save some $$ for Transformers...Fortunately for me I am going to see the prescreening of Transformers in Imax!

Except those Regal IMAX are not real IMAXs your paying more for what is not the 70mm/15perf IMAX experience but 2K projection which is pretty low considering the resolution of IMAX 70mm can go as high as 16K.

IMAX screens like the one in Melbourne are far too big for the two 2K projectors used for IMAX digital to produce even a "decent" IMAX image.

Shame though that IMAX Corp seems to have put a halt to constructing the grandiose screens that many of us are used to, and are now going in the direction of retro fitting multiplex screens that are only slightly bigger than their 35mm counterparts

I swear almost every Imax I've been to has been a bit different (Las Vegas, NV, 2 different ones in San Antonio, TX, Mass., Tulsa, OK).

Very strange.

The one in Tulsa was horrible. The one in Las Vegas had an incredibly strange seating arrangement - like every row was it's own balcony - didn't like it.

The one in Mass. was freakin' amazing. I would LOVE to watch every movie in that Imax. You simply couldn't get a better viewing and listening experience.

Unfortunately, where I'm at now has no Imax - however, they still have 80ft high screens, digital projection, with a balcony option and THX surround sound. If you can't have Imax - Warren Theaters Grand Auditorium rooms are the next best thing!

Well nice to see that the awefulness of the first has carried over into the sequel. Would hate to think that it was actually going to have a good story and acting.

Is it just me, or did that scene just seem like an outtake from that old Kirsten Dunst movie, Toy Soldiers?

Gah.

Glad I don't plan on seeing this.

I can't take Optimus Prime seriously. I've heard his voice in too many trailers. I haven't even seen the entire first movie, yet. I just keep expecting Optimus to blurt "In a world . . ."

Guys do you REALLY all need to reply saying you're not going to see it? Kind of a downer to those of us who are looking forward to this movie...
