Default Help?

I'm looking to upgrade my Pioneer receiver in the near future and it seems Marantz makes a good product with great features. I've heard good things about Marantz, especially that they have a warm sound. Is that true? Also, when watching a bluray, does the audio codec display on the front (ie. DTS HD Master, Dolby TruHD, etc)?
Thanks for the help!

One more thing. Are the power ratings fairly accurate on the Marantz models? I know mine boasts 110 watts per channel but its actually much less when 5 or 7 speakers are running.

Looking at picking up the SR5005 soon. Noticed that the SR6005 displays the speakers in use on the lcd display (i.e. LFE, CEN, LF, RF, RS, LS) but did not see that on the 5005...anyone with the 5005 confirm this? I'd like to know if the DTS Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD shows up on the 5005 lcd as well...

I just intalled a SR 5005 for a buddy , I do see in the display area for the DTS ma & D-hd to, but belive it or not I'm still having trouble getting it to decode them, not sure what is wrong, but it always wants to go to Multi channel for the surround.. As for the speakers , all I see is front A/b in the display area. Now in the menu you can see what spekaers are being used,, I have been a marantz fan for along time,, but with the new seriers , I really think the menu sucks,, I have been reading the book over & over, half it is stupid.. Or Maybe I just am,, good luck. My self I'm glad I have the SR-7002 ,, this is alot easier to wrok with ,, If you get one LMK so you can help me,,LOL

The place I ordered it from is currently out of stock but I should have mine sometime next week. I'll get it setup and hopefully we can help each other with any problems!

Got my 5005 last night and set it up this morning and so far, so good. Sounds great when using the cable box, PS3, XBOX360, and bluray player!

Will the 6005 work with a harmony one remote? Or do I need an rf adapter?

Since this is in the basement and replacing an old Pio Elite VSX41 I can't complain about the 5005. Its nice to finally hear things coming out of all my speakers the way they should! Setup was a breeze too. and for the price I paid I couldn't go wrong with this purchase.

I pretty sure the SR-8002 & the SR-7002 both pass the 1080P 24p.. As I have the SR-7002 and it works on mine, I'm using the Marantz BD-8002 player , which is quite high end, when I bought it it was $ 2,000 thats how I have it set up and the picture is amazing,,, Congrats on your new 8002 ,, enjoy ..

Just got a 6005 yesterday and it absolutely rocks. Huge upgrade over the Onkyo 606.

Default Warranty

Hey guys, I've got a defective SR6003 that I need to get taken care of under warranty. I bought it about 6 months ago from Accessories4less, refurbished. Has anyone here had experience with support from either Marantz or Accessories4less? I'm wondering who I should contact first. Thanks!

Default Video dropouts wit SR7005

Hi

I have a Sony BDP-570 with a SR7005. I am using these with a Panasonic projector AX200. When I connect the projector directly with HDMI to the Sony, the video is fine. But when the Sony is connected to the receiver and the projector is getting the HDMI out from the receiver, the video drops every few minutes. The audio continues but not the video. This is only a problem with the Bluray player and not with any other source. It happens even when a disc is not playing and I am browsing the menu options on the BluRay. Any idea why?

Thanks

ppr

I find my decade old AV9000 sounds much better for music than my brand new Pioneer. But unfortunately it doesn't recognize DTS-HD or SACD
