Yeah that one should be so good! It's a great time of year for new Blurays with Wolverine out, Star Trek next week, Transformers 2 soon, Termintor Salvation soon, GI Joe... etc.

As far as last bought or watched goes, bought the X-Men Quadrilogy and watched Xmen 1. Myself and the missus are now committed to every Tuesday being home theatre movie night (with also perhaps a night on the weekend), because we frankly haven't been keeping up with the watching.

Seriously, it's so bad, we bought the Bourne pack and Ultimate Matrix back when they came out, but haven't gotten around to watching them yet. I should be ashamed, I know.

Bought: Sin City (have flicked through a few scenes and it's a solid release, though the detail is rather low on some of the cgi, I believe that's its intended look, though I remember it looking better in cinemas).

Just bought Predator for $25 at K-Mart. Good price for a classic from my youth.
Cheers,

Rented:
17 Again: I expected to loathe this film, but I always ensure I rent films that I don't expect to enjoy (as many of my favourite films I find from doing such). I however was plesently surprised and whilst it was as predictable as they come, it had plenty of charm and provided more then enough laughs (especially when the scenes involved the now 'young' Mike and the still 37 odd year old Scarlett, or the young Mike and his daughter, who doesn't know he is her father [one scene in particular made me laugh so hard my stomache hurt]). Still, I think unless you hate every romantic comedy you have ever seen this film is worth a rent (or a buy if you are more of what I would term a collector, eg: own more films then if you watched two every day for a year you would not have gone through your collection). Video is strong with no traces of dnr, artificial sharpening or any other demonic tools of image degredation, although some mild film damage was present (though largely unnoticable). Audio is also strong, but doesn't have a huge amount of activity (ie: is not what most would term demo material).

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: I hadn't seen this for several years but adored this film when I was younger (and even own the score on vinyl ). Firstly the transfer is every bit as good as has been reported elsewhere (although little to no grain is present, which is odd given that the seperate images where filmed when making this picture and no formentioned demonic tools of image degredation are present). Audio is also strong but 'muffled' as a result of when it was recorded. It however is still the best I have ever seen or heard this film. Sadly, whilst I still enjoy the film, I can't imagine myself watching it often, so I shant be picking this up (untill of course blus are sold for $10 and less, but untill then i'll either borrow a copy from a friend or rent a copy).

Watched Ghostbusters. It was a freebie with the new Sony player I picked up a week and a half ago. The transfer in some spots was fantastic, others not so much. As I expected though so I wasn't disappointed. I'm not sure a new transfer would improve much as this one was showing the budget limitations as it was, especially with the visual effects.

All in all though, the best it's looked at home.

Street Kings (DTS HD MA version)
I have watched the DTS HD version, vioces tend to crackle in certain scenes.
The DTS HD MA version has none of these problems and has the same great PQ transfer.
