Eli Stone was a good show. I think it kind of lost it's way in the 2nd season and was all over the place. I realize why it got cancelled (due to being all over the place) but it was still making me sad to see it go.

He's not quite on the level of "showkiller" as say Ted McGinley, the Patron Saint of Shark Jumping, but he did get to shack up with Angelina Jolie before she got ruined for life by Billy Bob Thornton.

so...you know...he's got THAT.

EDIT: he's been in three shows I can see.

Eli Stone (2 seasons)
Smith (7 episodes and cancelled)
Emma (four part mini-series)

I never watched the show but I knew of it, and also looked at what else he was in. Nothing that I know of. But for the most part I knew no one from Dexter before the show. Other than Jennifer Carpenter.

I thought it was cool. Quirky and had comparisons to Ally McBeal due to the legal aspects and the quirkiness.

would have made a fantastic back to back with Pushing Daisies.

I'll check it out to see how he is, but it seems like one of those shows I wouldn't like.

But anyways the only role I've ever liked him in was that of Crash Override aka Zero Cool aka Dade Murphy the genius hacker in the 1995 classic, "Hackers".

On another note, is it just me or is anybody far more annoyed than excited by the fact that the casting news of Julia, Shawn and now Johnny only specifies that their roles are "mysterious" that just makes it sound like the writers don't even know what they are going to do with them yet, and since this is Dexter where everything is done last second, it makes me think this is exactly why they haven't been given descriptions.

I firmly believe she will be a protege of Dexter's. Someone he can mentor and guide like Harry did him. Perhaps Zero Cool will be her boyfriend who has no clue that she's a freak like Dexter?

Im sure they dont want to give away plot details and try an keep everything a mystery.

Yeah I mean I would like to see this season wrap it up so we can get some closure. Season 4 was awesome and is going to be hard to top, so we'll see how this goes. If they happen to do a good job and convince me other wise then let the show go on.

Yeah, but ratings say Showtime will want the show to continue, as the Dexter season finale was the highest rated original program in Showtime's history. It's likely going to be Hall's decision. He doesn't strike me as the type that is just going to sign for a big paycheck and will likely want to know that the showrunners have a plan for the future (which wasn't the case after season 4).

Yeah I think they do wanna have a mystery to the season, even if that means saying two of the characters are part of that. It makes people wonder what they're gonna be.

Robocop star Peter Weller has joined the cast of Dexter as "a troubled Miami Metro police officer who gets caught up in an internal affairs investigation." He will appear in 8 of the 12 episodes.

I had the ending of Season 4 ruined for me over at AICN.

There was no spoiler warning. The news was about a new cast member for season 5 - and they said, "So-and-so has been cast - could be because ******* was killed at the end of season 4. I was P!SSED!!!!

Anyway, I knew about the killing - but it was still powerful.

My wife kept saying, "Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god" - really got under her skin.

Exceptional show.
