makes absolutely no sense to release this seperately from the box set on the same day.
how can the box set be the complete collectors set if its missing this.
in other words this is the set that should have been released two years ago when the original release of the last rambo hit bluray.
can you confirm if the movies are packaged as individual cases in the box or is a digi pack type like the dvd set was back in 2008. if you are able to post a photo i would appreciate it, i have a feeling i will be refusing shipment of this tommorow afternoon now.

it comes in a single "FAT" 4 disc blu ray case (Like UP and Monsters INC came in) and it is all the original discs. Rambo IV even says "Disc 1" like it does for the original pressing just without the second "digital copy" disc

That really sucks no EE is included. I was going to buy the set since I don't have the first 3 but will skip the set and just get the EE. Who ever came up with this marketing idea should be fired.

More evidence the box set does NOT include the extended cut.....

"Final Thoughts: If you've got the previous Lionsgate Blu-ray releases of the four films contained in this collection, there's absolutely no reason at all to bother with this one as it brings nothing new to the game and really only exists to cash in on the (at the time of this writing) theatrical release of The Expendables and rather frustratingly omits the inclusion of the fourth film's extended cut. That said, if you didn't pick those up single discs and are a fan of Stallone or action films in general, this set is a pretty easy package to recommend. The audio and video quality don't rival the best out there, but the transfers and sound mixes are generally quite good as are the extra features."

well that really sucks, yeah i will definately be not accepting shipment of this tommorow and just picking up the trilogy boxset and john rambo extended cut seperately.
thanks. really dont get how you can sell something as the complete set when it doesnt include the new cut of the last movie and the documentary included with it.

I was atleast hopeing after reading what you said that it was atleast in individual cases so that i could always just switch the case out to one that held an extra disc and in a few weeks buy the extended cut. but oh well.

Keep an eye out on Target's too, that's where i purchased my copy, it was 14.99 but they may not carry many. the store i went to had 2 copies the copy i picked up and the one my friend got as well.

On second note. Is this a Stallone director's cut or something? Or is this just a cash grab released by the studio to cash in on the upcoming Stallone movie The Expendables? I am confused. Especially hearing that there are certain scenes that are removed. That's one of the first times I have ever heard of an "extended cut" actually having stuff removed.

Watched my copy last night. Was really awesome. I think it flowed better. Hard to explain. Even though they cut out violence I thought this new version was much more interesting than the last. Got mine at Wal Mart for 15 bucks.

If you read back in this thread, your questions have already been answered.

And there have been many director's cuts that have footage removed.

Can anyone explain what has been removed before I buy it? I have the regular version on DVD and was looking to upgrade to the Blu version, I thought it was an extended version with more violence?

It's a completely re-cut version, several of the graphic violence has been cut and more detailed conversations have been added back in.

Hurm, this turning into another Predator Ultimate Hunter thread.

A few shots are missing, nothing major except for obsessive geeks. about 8mn is added, making the film even better than it was before. And the documentary is a spectacular fly on the wall look at the making of the film.

It's the superior edition of this film, and a truly great disc, do not let anyone fool you.
