Could it happen?
The amplifier can handle 4 ohms. The impedance is not a problem. However, car audio subwoofers are tuned high and built for sound output and will normally do not play the ultra low frequencies that you may need for home theater. Home theater subwoofers are tuned low. They are not as loud as car subwoofers, but they usually can play frequencies below 25Hz and some can go down to the 15 Hz or so.

I do not want to discourage you. If you already own the amplifier and the subwoofers, go ahead and do it. If you don't own them, invest your money in one or two good home theater subwoofers.

Must of missed this thread here, I was thinking about getting the aura transducers to mount under my bed, but I wonder how many I would need? would 2 be enough?

it's a full size bed

The clark 209 is stronger then the Aura's? I was looking at the peak force per ft. but I was wondering how that translated to real world usage.

I'm going to be hooking 4 of these up to 4 separate chairs. What's a good amp that will hook up 4 of these. Hate to ask this cause a bunch of links have been posted but I'm kind of confused when it comes to the amp. Budget is $100-$200

Normally, the impedance of Bass Shakers or transducers is 4 ohms. You need to connect the drivers in such a way that the net impedance will be above 4 ohms. The following diagram should help you.

Most subwoofer amplifiers can handle 4 ohm loads. Plate amplifiers are cheaper, but you need to build a small box for them with enough ventillation. External amplifiers are easier to work with, but they cost more.

Big difference and I also see the Clark mounts a little bit different as well.

So that Dayton one u linked that would be able to hook up 4? I don't get the diagram u posted. I'm totally confused how these hook up. I feel like homer Simpson can you dumb it down for me. I will need a splitter for the sub out from my denon, one wire goes to my ep-500 and the other one would go to the Dayton. Then exactly what from the Dayton?

On the plate amps backside of the amp has 2 wires red and black those would hookup to the transducers just like a speaker, and the LFE from the receiver would go into the faceplate of the plate amp LFE in.

Ok but most of the ones I've seen have only 2 sets of red and black connectors how would you hook up 2 more? The plates have 4 but I don't want to have to build anything

Mono amplifiers (subwoofer and plate amplifiers) have only two speaker outputs (one red, one black). Stereo amplifiers have four outputs (two reds and two blacks). Some use white instead of black.

If you don't want to build anything, your only other option is to screw the plate amplifier to the bottom of the sofa. It may not be a bad idea to attach four pieces of wood or rubber to the legs of the sofa in order to raise it a little bit.

Default Fried Aura

I burned up an original Aura non pro unit today listening to music and forgot it was on. I am running it with a separate sub amp that I took out of an amplified sub enclosure. My question is for replacing it. Should I go with two Aura Pro's or one Clark TST239. I had this one on a 3 person couch mounted on the inner frame closest to the middle and it seemed to just fill in ok. I would like to feel it a little bit more, and I know both choices will do just that. Any ideas on what I should do?

If you can afford it, go with two Clark 239s.

Not sure my amp board will have enough to power two of those, will the 239's be that much better then the 209's?

The Clark 239 is definitely better than the Clark 209. However, if the choice is between two 209s and one 239, then I would pick two 209s.

What plate amp should I be looking at for the Clark 209 if I wanted to run two of them?
