Default Lethal Weapon

Thank you. I called WB, they want me to send in my discs of the first two movies, and they will send me replacements. I hate sending them without having the replacements first, that is the only thing holding me up from getting my Little Mermaid replaced, they want me to do the same thing, but that's another story with a minor issue. Thank you for the pics, my discs look the same but they are not from the UK. I only wish that you could all see what my copies look like on screen, I believe you would all agree how terrible they look, and yes, I have a decent set- up, and no other movie looks as bad as Lethal Weapon 1 and 2.

Wow, you have a "descent" set-up? Loved that game, pity that modern computers can't play it anymore.

Thanks! I just got the BB [4] film pack not knowing about the 'old Vs new' debate, though it lists DTS-HD MA: English 5.1 Dolby Digital, so assume it's the remastered BDs.

It also notes them being 2.4:1, which is close enough to the 2.35:1 of three of them, but too far off of the 1.85:1 of the first film IMO, so wondering if this is a typo.

TIA,

GM

Snagged it for 19.91 Canadian from the UK (including shipping). I can even tolerate Lethal Weapon 4.

I can't believe they are selling it for 54.00 used in one store I visited.

The 4 film favorites disk 1 is not DTS-MA (unless it was recently changed) regardless of what the packaging says. Warner doesn't care. They replaced my disk 2 that was Swordfish instead of LW2 but completely ignored my complaints of disk 1 being DD audio.

Sorry, good catch. I'm sick with a cold, the flu, some damn thing - anyway, it looked like a DigiBook on the shelf. It's just a "box set" with a thick Amaray case (wish it was a DigiBook).

Bummer! On the back of the BD it states 'All Films'. I'll get the [5] disc collection, thanks!

For the people who like the music from the films: La-La Land has released an 8 CD-box with the music from the 4 Lethal Weapon-films.

You can buy it at www.lalalandrecords.com

So, $23-$38 dollars for the 5 movies on BD, but $120 for the music alone on CD. Weird.

I returned it and politely harassed the manager a bit about being co-conspirators in this scam and he was quick to say they'd pulled all their inventory and fixed the Swordfish issue, but claimed no knowledge or complaints about the first movie being an old release or the packaging being in error nor would he open it up to see if it was true, so assume that for now they're turning a 'blind eye' to this issue.

Anyway, he gave me a $5 store credit for my trouble, which I immediately applied to their $44.99 Downton Abby 1-3 BD set.

On the way out I noticed they were putting out several new sets including the Matrix one, so got it since I haven't noticed any complaints about it [yet].

Ordered that about twenty minutes after it was listed on their site. Love the combo of Kamen and Clapton on the LW soundtracks, and I can't wait to get hold of that set.

It would appear you are not aware how much time and effort goes into creating a quality soundtrack album, let alone a box set, or the number-crunching necessary to make something like this a viable project for the label as well as a desirable release for the film music enthusiast. There's nothing weird here.

Eight discs but they still miss out Eric Clapton's Pilgrim and War's Why Can't We Be Friends? Hardly definitive then.

Really? Did it cost as much to make as, say, Sgt. Pepper's - cause that sold for about I/10th the cost of this when it first came out. How about Chinese Democracy, reputed to have cost $10 mil - sells for $4.88! Or MJ's Invincible, which probably didn't cost anywhere near the $30 mil Wiki claims - sells for $8.98. Hell, you can buy Bob Dylan's Complete Album Collection - 42 albums and a small book, of which, 14 albums were newly remastered for the set - for $180!

Look, I don't care if people buy what they want. Life is short, make yourself happy! Like Geoff said : "Love the combo of Kamen and Clapton…" But it's still a rip-off - pricewise. I hope the quality is great and I hope everybody who buys it loves it, but that still won't make me say "the price is right".

Agreed. It's ridiculous. They want more for the music by itself than the whole movie. Then they don't even give you every song. I'm still pissed the songs on the Coyote Ugly soundtrack don't even sound like the ones in the movie. **** Leann Rhymes. I liked the way it sounded in the movie. THAT is what the soundtrack should've been! I waited forever to the Cruzados to release that song from the beginning of Roadhouse on their own ("Don't Throw Stones") because it wasn't on the soundtrack. I can't stand all these movies that use awesome songs then you find out they've never been released on CD in any form. I've got a whole list of songs like that. One from Lionheart ("No Mercy" by Bill Wray), some from Mr Nanny (Buster Poindexter songs), even a goddamn Jeff Healey song that was used on Glimmer Man and never got released ("Bulletproof"). WTF!?

Obviously part of the reason why it's so expensive is because it's a limited edition of 3,000 copies, and it comes in special packaging. A portion also goes to a charity foundation.

Also keep in mind that the LW BD set has a retail price of $80, so comparing the retail price of the CD set to a sale price for the BD is not exactly fair. The CD set is less likely to go down however.
