I just got home from watching the West Coast screening tonight at the Paley Center, along with about 50 Batman fans, media and the leads, Peter Weller, Ariel Winter and David Selby and the usual DCU suspects (Timm, Romano, director, writer).

I'll just right to it. We loved it!!

To be honest, I didn't think it would be any good from the clips I'd seen online. But now I think it's simply because I didn't see it in context with the entire film, which is paced just right and the character design, which can bug me sometimes, was really impressive.

The panel discussion afterwards was entertaining. I didn't realize Selby was on the original Dark Shadows or that Weller was a professor or that Ariel won an Emmy last night. Folks who asked questions got autographed stuff, I think either the Blu-ray or a large poster. I never got asked, damnit!

So to Best Buy tomorrow for me!

Well this was very well done. I liked it better than under the red hood, about the same as year one. The newscast stuff did drag, but the animation was great and the fights were brutal, loved both. It was kind of like an animated version of the Bane fight in TDKR. Peter Weller did a great job too, with the voice of Bruce/Batman.

Like any movie adaptation from a book, there needs to be changes due to the medium switch, and while there are some changes, overall TDKR is really quite good. Can't wait for Part 2.

Btw I should mention that in the Q&A, Timm & Co strongly hinted that a combined Part 1/Part 2 release is in the works. They said to keep an eye out for their 2013-2014 release slate that may get released at the NY Comic-Con. Figures!

So good to see TDKR used appropriately again.

Glad they're working on a combined version, considering it's Warner, I figured and I'm waiting for that.

Why don't they do showcases anymore with these releases? The Green Arrow one was amazing. I liked the Catwoman one on Year One a lot also, really there wasn't a bad one.

Watching it right now. Being really looking forward to this one. Weller's voice is perfect for the older Bruce.

They are very different styles of animation and the tone of the film is different, but I think this one overall is clearly better.

Holy carp this movie was sick! The sounds was amazing, the music was awesome and the fight scenes were sick too. I liked how bad ass Batman is in this though, he doesnt give a rats ass in this. Def geared towards adults in this one, not that the other ones werent but just thought this was alot darker then most of the other ones. Red hood is tied with this for me. If Mark Hamil was joker Red Hood would be my fav.
