It's slimmer, only needs the 2D because 3D sucks, and will only go up in value.

Since when is lenticular better artwork? Sorry Mr da Vinci, the Mona Lisa sucks because her nose does fly out off the canvas! Get a grip of yourself.

How about you shut up. You said I was out of my mind for prefering the 3D version to a steelbook. You do know you are paying extra for a silly tin case. The film is the most important thing and it was made for 3D and is fantastic in 3D.

Nipped in HMV today and they have a big stand with all their stock out live (and tagged), along with a sign saying 'Reserve your copy now, buy on Monday'. Hopefully their copies will survive grabby customers until then!

The 3D lenticular cover is fantastic, I just hope my reserved copy will be mint. Fingers crossed.

Did your HMV have any sort of offer up for pre-ordering? Mine had a poster up saying 'First 100 pre-orders get a free 3D poster!' but, when I asked, they knew nothing and mumbled something about not having anything in and they guess I must get it on Monday.

Mind you, the fellow who served me tried saying you couldn't pre-order anything (despite the big push they were giving it) and his companion said that they could pre-order but that I shouldn't bother - HMV, you are in no position to turn customers away if you can lock them into a sale! So they might now have been the most knowledgable duo.

I was in HMV a few weeks back when the Blue Cross sale had finished while everything still had the labels on them but staff were saying the don't mean anything. I think it might have been worth pushing for as it wasn't exactly a handful of items which still had labels it was thousands of DVD' CD's, BD's and books. They should have honored the deal or had labels with 'offer finishes on XX/XX/2013' to cover themselves.

Getting conflicting information is just confusing!

The offer in mine is that you get £2 off a Hobbit mug. I already have them though so I only pre-ordered to be guaranteed the £15.99 price. When I first went to reserve my copy as they told me to do on their Twitter account, the guy told me I couldn't. So I asked again, he checked the system and saw that reservations had been reactivated on their system over the weekend. I know what it's like when the company you work for is in administration (been through it twice at Music Zone/Fopp and Borders) and there's always a lot of conflicting information going around!

Og, absolutely and I realise it's not necessarily their fault - they only know as much as their management tells them. I'm sure all of us have been in a position where the people above haven't filtered down new procedures or updated information!

The last thing I had from ASDA I got a dispatch email followed by 'we're going to delivery your item today' message (which they did). If you're worried you won't get it in time for Monday they it might be easier to cancel and grab one from HMV or a supermarket.

I'd check my email but it's having a bit of a crisis during the switch-over of providers, Outlook Express has just downloaded 18,000 new messages for me to go through!

Well, mine is coming from Tesco... so I don't think it'll be here until Tues/Weds next week.

I wasn't going to get it, but ended up pre-ordering when the Django offer was on.

Considering I've paid 1st class to Amazon for it to arrive on release day I'm guessing they'll send it out tomorrow or maybe saturday. As long as it arrives on monday I'll be happy. If it arrives tuesday or after then they're getting an angry email!

Can anyone confirm if the UK steelbook is G1 or G2?

I would assume it's G2... although if you compare it to the Canadian version on here, it's slightly longer, and it looks like a G1. Granted it's most likely just the image, but you never know.

I assume G1 is the size for regular DVD cases?

Surely they wouldn't use that these days, without at least saying so? I think there'd be a lot of unhappy chappies if they did!

ASDA do send a dispatch confirmation email so check your spam box, mine was posted by asda yesterday but hasn't arrived today (the postman has just been)

I had my email from Sainsburys yesterday... do they normally arrive over the weekend or on release day? It's the first time I've ordered a pre-release from them.

It varies - I've had orders from them turn up on the Saturday, the Monday and the Tuesday before. They're hit and miss but, for me, their prices are often worth the gamble.

The steelbook just keeps dropping in price! Wish the 3D version would drop too :P
