I am not sure about Rumble, but Armour of God is already out. It is uncut and English subbed. It does not look that great (not compared to the US blu) and is probably an upscale but it is available on blu from Kam & Ronson. Normally, you should be able to pick it up from dddhouse.com or yesasia.com.

Rumble In The Bronx is held by New Line in the US and Warner in HK. Warner HK bought up the rights to this and other Jackie Chan films distributed by New Libe in the US to prevent cross importing. Sadly, Warner's DVD release of Rumble is the western cut but it does have the Cantonese track... just no English subtitles.

I have both uncut versions of Rumble in the Bronx and Who am I, unfortunately they're both the Taiwanese dual versions on DVD (no bluray) distributed by Funny video. The unique DVD has the Taiwanese Mandarin dub uncut version on one side w/ English subs (poor PQ and sound) and the English-dubbed New Line Cinema US cut on the other side (decent PQ and better sound). Quite rare to find but a treasure for JC fans.

I have the Rumble in the Bronx Funny label DVD and as you say the picture quality leaves a lot to be desired but its the only version with English subs. I also have Rumble on a Japanese DVD too and the picture is much better but there are no subs

Still need to get Who am I uncut and still trying to track down the extended print of Island of fire too, seems like I will never find that one though.

The best DVD of Who Am I? is the Japanese DVD.
It's uncut, anamorphic, and, although there are no English subs, it's not a big issue because 90% of the movie is in English anyways (for some reason the tribal scenes were dubbed into Cantonese for the Asian prints).

The director's cut of Island of Fire was released as an open matte DVD with burnt subs in Taiwan many moons ago.

Man, I'd love to have Police Story IV (First Strike) and Who Am I? on Blu-ray just for the ladder and rooftop fights alone. I've ordered the UK Rumble in the Bronx disc and look forward to watching it. It was my first Jackie Chan movie and it holds a special place for me. I was blown away and a big fan after that.

Think we'll ever get any quality releases of Chan's 70's/80's output?

Korea version of Miracles / The Canton Godfather on 19 January: http://www.yesasia.com/us/miracle-19...0-en/info.html

Region A, because they hate French Guiana.

Anyone know what Art Vision is like? There have been 2 upconverts so far... No sign of 4K, sadly.

Oh that's intriguing, was close to buying the HK upconvert but maybe I'll get this instead as it's Ltd Ed and has a nice slip case and artwork. It maybe the same upconvert transfer from Kam & Ronson but a better release nevertheless

Has anyone bought and received their Korean Limited Edition of Miracles yet? Would love to hear someone's opinion on the quality etc.

Just noticed someone is selling a copy of the Limited Edition Miracles on eBay from Korea and it's limited to 777
I think I'm just going to buy it as no one else seems to have yet. Just would have liked to know the quality first really but oh well, only one way to find out

So, I have the Echo Bridge 2-disc, 6 movie set (Operation Condor 1 & 2 and Project A 1 & 2 on one disc, Supercop and Twin Dragons on the second.) Is there any reason for me to keep my DVDs? It doesn't look like it, but I want to make sure.

I ordered the Accidental Spy HK blu-ray from Buyoyo and received this:

The odd thing is the black case with no paper sleeve. The case also has some "marks/scuffs" and just doesn't look new to me.

The glossy slipcase is also quite dark (the picture shows it a bit brighter than it is actually).

The disc looks ok to me though. It has IFPI codes and such, and I can see the cover image through the disc from the playing surface side when looking it against light.

Does anybody else have this release? Is it like mine?

It's really hard to find any "real" images of this release from net. Almost all is the digitally created stock image. However I found this:

It shows a blue case and a sleeve paper. Why mine doesn't have?

I'd say there's no reason to keep the BDs either; they're all cut and/or rescored/remixed into oblivion. And, all HK BDs of the classics seem to be worthless horribly remixed upconverted ripoffs.

Here is my copy:

The one you have looks most likely like mine even the disc artwork. I know some Asian distributors to save money on pressings will not include actual sleeve artwork and just go with a cheaply printed slipcover.

Maybe Kam & Ranson's later pressings do the same thing, especially since my sleeve has inner and outer printing. Then again, I've seen bootleg copies just have a printed slipcover also for cost reasons. Have you checked the disc itself?

Thanks for your help! What do you mean? Played it? No. I'm currently ripping it to ISO with my slow usb-drive (it takes 5-6 hours). I've a media player to play these.

S#%t, I'm disappointed now, and I don't know if this is bootleg or not. Last time I asked about bootlegs here, I was given an advice that if the playing side of the disc is black and you can't see the top side artwork through the disc, then it's a fake.. I dunno if that's changed lately. This disc has IFPI codes and K&R catalog number, but is that a sign of authenticity?

Is Buyoyo still reliable seller? I was rather worried when I saw my order number, it was only few numbers higher than my last order from them roughly 2 YEARS ago!

My copy (bought a while ago) is the same as Steve Dave's.

No sleeve is unacceptable, IMO.

You should contact them and ask for a replacement.
