Just gave this one another spin. My love for it grows every time I watch it. 3-D animated films don’t get much better than this one. Sweet, charming, clever, enthralling, and thrilling, all in equal measure, with brilliantly colorful art design and absolutely spectacular 3-D, and I do mean SPECTACULAR. And the Blu contains three delightful little making-of featurettes with director Ben Stassen and art director Jeremie DeGruson, plus the original teaser trailer and full trailer. Possibly the best blind buy I’ve ever made.

So you could just start the disc with your TV/projector off if you wanted to watch in 2D, and then turn your display on.
Didn't work with my make of player but worth a shot.

Anyone interested in nWave’s early 3-D short movies should check out Haunted Castle (2001).

Hopefully your 3-D setup has TB (top/bottom) and not just SBS (side/by/side).
Excellent 3-D effects and music. Looks pretty good coming from a field sequential DVD.

Regardless of what that poster said on Youtube, I believe that was actually sourced from an over/under 3D broadcast, not converted from the field-sequential DVD. Look at the intro. That's an over/under broadcast. That's what they would play back around 2011-2012 when 3D was being broadcast on 3D, often in over/under format. It would start with the countdown to let you know it will switch to 3D in a few seconds. I think that was Sky3D if I'm not mistaken. They would broadcast shorts like this, and this short was indeed broadcast at least once back then in 3D.
