Thanks, I was on the fence because of the price. Now I can pull the trigger. Seems like the definitive guide for 50's scifi.

Thanks for this info! I have the original book release in both the 2-volume hard cover and paperback versions, plus this new revised hard cover edition. I've also checked amazon a few times in the past for a kindle version but to no avail. Thanks to your post I already purchased it and the help is much appreciated.

Well, I'm not going to throw in the towel just yet on The Thing From Another World. Cat People is still scheduled for release on 2/26 so maybe there's just a delay for whatever reason.

Unhappy My Thing from Another World preorder...

Amazon Japan finally did an official notification sent to me by email:

Dear Customer: We have learned that there has been a delay with some of the item (s) in your order indicated above.
When your order is shipped you will receive an e-mail message confirming the date, contents and method of shipment.

Or the Japanese translation using google:
Delayed delivery of ordered product, we apologize for that would for the inconvenience to our customers.
Currently, since the delivery date of your order has not been determined, we continue to adjust. Delivery date is fixed as soon as we'll let you know by E-mail. By any chance, if it turns out that there is no prospect of the stock, I am sorry, there is also that I am allowed to unavoidably cancel your order.

Usual chaotic wording but it's easy enough to figure out:
Don't call us, we'll call you....sigh....

At least it sounds like it's just delayed. However, I hope that it's not a permanent situation

The RSP review of Demon makes no mention of what the other film posters on the remaining sides of the box set are (besides the already-visible Giant Claw and War of the Satellites), but an earlier prototype of the box displayed The Hideous Sun Demon on one side, so that may (or may not) be one of the remaining two (or three, if there is art on the bottom) panels. Once my set arrives from Germany I can post the titles/images, unless of course someone else receives their set and does so in the meantime.

The "set" is just the first film and the box with space for the others that will be released, Giant Claw isn't even officially announced yet I don't think. Same deal as what happened with the Gamera trilogy on DVD several years ago.

Just received notice from Amazon Japan that the new release date for the previously postponed The Thing from Another World Blu-ray is now March 31, 2016. Hope this date sticks! Also hope the quality is decent.

As long as it's better than the existing dvd I'll be happy. The only part that's iffy is the extended material. I hope we get the extended cut.

If you're talking about this early box design, I think the still to the right is from THE ALLIGATOR PEOPLE.

We were talking about the one embedded on page 10. This picture you attached is of the opposite side. And yeah, that's definitely the alligator people. What was the source on this pic?

Thanks for the tip. I downloaded and just started reading it. Although I won't be reading the details for every movie, it's a very well-written book, similar to Universal Horrors.

Anolis has an official subforum there. So it's direct from the source.

My error, I had misremembered the image. According to the above-linked thread, the next title will be War of the Satellites, although it will be DVD-only. Ivo, do you know if there will there be English subtitles for the commentary track this time?

Gog is down to $16.50 on Amazon and Curse of the Faceless Man is $14.56.

Regarding the apparent delay of It Came from Outer Space:
