The Town 4K UHD (2010)

This is a great UHD. Don’t care for the extended cut so I’m not bothered by it only being in HD.

I prefer the standard extended cut. Too much missing from the theater version to go back IMO.
The 3rd ending was nice to see once, but really shifts the whole movie's tone. Not a fan, but still couldn't pass up that boxset with all 3 cuts and the swag when they had em for $14 at Wal-Mart a few years back.

I prefer the standard extended cut of this film as it makes the relationship between two of the central characters more convincing. In the theatrical cut it feels a bit rushed.

Watching this again something struck me. As far as the girl should know Ben's mother was a p.o.s. he doesn't miss, so why would she name the skating rink after her? The answer would be that she knows what Ben discovered late in the movie right? But that means they've been in contact after the fact, which spoils the "did she or didn't she go" thing right? Just a thought.

P.S. This disc still looks stunning.

I don’t think she ever knew he found out at all. Still I doubt that changed the way he felt about his mother.

You don't think finding out she died due to a drug dealer's influence instead of her running out on the family and never looking back would change how he felt? Hard disagree there.

They printed tons of them and then many people like me skipped the release when they found it was only the theater cut on 4K. There are more of us than you TC lovers, don't forget it.

In seriousness, all the copies at local Best Buy still have slips too. More surprising they still have it in store than they still have slips IMO. They move titles in and out often with the small section they have.

I was under the impression the theatrical cut of The Town is the "director's cut" and widely considered the best cut. It is for me, anyway.
