I know it's been confirmed in this thread, but just in case there are any doubters on this ONLY being the 3D disc, here you go:scan0001.jpg

Already got the Italian version...and it is awesome as well!

Only thing about Rampage 3d that was disappointing is the non-ATMOS track...and no I don’t have the patience for muxing.

With regards to skepticism about the 3D-only product, I personally was in disbelief because of the corporate stupidity required for such a stunt.

I wonder how much it cost to create another SKU for manufacture ordering and packaging...

For it's part, maybe Amazon priced this turkey at $48 to wave people away from this release?

If WB is planning to sell pricey 3D-only releases in the future, they have another thing coming.

Wow.. just unbelievable! Why would they ever want to create another version of the 3D. If they were going to this all at least do it right and have a combo with 4K and 3D. Now I can understand that. This has to be the most stupid decision ever made. Someone at WB must be fired for this.

Why would someone order the US version.. I got the canadian version.. 3D + 2D + slipcover for about the same price.. Only downside is some french writing on the case but who cares.. I use the 2D version to add the atmos track to the 3D version so it is a big deal for me if it is missing..

Not sure if the question was rhetorical, but the answer is timing! Best Buy shipped the disc nearly a full week ahead of the release date....Oh, Canada? Not so much...

As soon as I saw the cover art, and considering how Justice League from Amazon turned out with them not offering a digital copy (and that's costs virtually nothing, so easier to cut the 2D disc if they are in a money saving mode) I figured they were doing this.

I did enjoy the 3D theatrically, but given the uncertainty (I wasn't gonna order from anyplace that didn't have clear picture of the case showing it was a complete set) and higher price, I just decided to do the standard Blu disc + digital order from VUDU for $20 and got a bonus digital copy to give to my friend who wanted it. Though am glad at least Tomb Raider was a more sensible release, and did get the 3D on that.

I rented this on Vudu. This is the first time in a while that a 3D release has been rentable on Vudu (unless one of the ones I bought the BD for was also rentable). Anyway, I wasn't expecting to be able to rent it in 3D, but I was very pleased as the 3D is pretty good. Didn't care much for the movie itself so I won't be getting this though.

Grabbed a used copy of Rampage 3d last night for $18 CDN with slipcover at my local shop, but the code and BD disc were missing. The local Walmart has a shelf full for $29, so does Best Buy. No need for Amazon for the last few 3d releases if you're Canadian. I confirmed both Walmart and BestBuy will have copies of Ready Player One 3d on shelves Tuesday. It's a nice change. Usually we're paying a premium for stuff over here, seems like we're getting lucky right now with the 3d releases

I just picked up my Rampage 3D from wallymart and the UPC pulls up as being the "Manufactured On Demand" kind of release. Wallymart didn't even disclose that it was a "MOD" on their web site. I guess if we're lucky enough to get a 3D release here in the US its only a red-headed stepchild version, sold from the trunk of the car in the wallymart parking lot. Really sad because we have to pay more than other countries and then get ripped off with an inferior product. I think from now on I'm going to buy only overseas.

All the Rampage 3D disc are identical -- BN, DD, WM, BN, etc. Some are labeled MOD online and some aren't, but they are from the same pressing. That was also a known quantity weeks if not months ago. There is absolutely no difference between the Warner MOD pressed Bluray discs and any other Warner disc. As a matter of fact the Warner Archive MOD disc tend to be some of the best quality discs made. They aren't inferior to anything.

It actually wouldn't shock me if the Amazon 3D and Amazon.ca discs are exactly the same discs despite having different UPC on the packages and the screen art being different on the Canadian item. I would love to see the file dates, factory print/laser markings, and BDinfo comparison scans on the 3 North American 3D releases to see if there is any diffference at all.
The Canadian and US 3D discs are identical. The only difference is that the Canadian release has a slipcover as well as some French text on the artwork.

worknstiff - You are not getting an "inferior" product. You are getting the same exact 3D disc that much of the rest of world is getting. The only thing missing is a slipcover. It has been this way for the past year or so with Warner 3D releases.
