I have standards too, but that's not going to keep from what's important here. THE MOVIE. And its 4K PRESENTATION. I personally don't care if the artwork is just a toilet full of poo. I'll still buy it. I ain't seeing the artwork anyway except when I take the movie out to watch it. I'm watching the movie not the artwork. If I love something no amount of bad artwork will keep me from watching it, listening to it, or reading it.

It doesn't affect the film's transfer or audio - which is why we collect 4K discs in the first place.

99.9999% of the time we see the spine of the case and that's it.

Studios don't owe you diddly squat. Cover art has nothing to do with streaming. The entitlement complex here is staggering.

The artwork blows however if they all solely featured Pat Hingle and Michael Gough, I'd still buy them day one as long as the films look and sound great.

Yeah, not all of us have a house full of money to waste on pointless junk. This will be rereleased again, or the steels will be of higher quality. There is no reason at all to just accept what you are given. Definitely if you are poor, have financial issues, et cetera.

They say if you stare at a slipcase long enough you will see a unicorn or that leprechaun who's always being chased after for his "Lucky Charms". In one instance I heard people saw a white rabbit.

I have financial issues big time. And I will find a way to get these movies. Again, it's not for the case, it's for the movie. For example, when R.E.M.'s Out of Time first came I bought it on cassette. One of the ugliest covers known to man. It makes these Batman covers look like works of art. Glad, I bought because it is one of my favorite albums of all time. I'm glad I didn't let ugly art keep me from buying what I love.

I'm not taking sides in this matter but you aren't really making a good case when you say that digital will be just fine, especially when you talk about garbage.

The film itself certainly matters most to me. I'd skip a release because it looks/sounds like sh*t but never due to bad cover art. I'll be blind buying these for example even though the covers really do look like garbage.

That said, this a physical media collector's forum and I definitely prefer that my movies come in pretty packaging. Being able to hold something that looks/feels good in hand is without a doubt part of what drives my collecting addiction. It's a major reason I'd stick with physical over streaming even if the latter looked/sounded exactly the same and I was guaranteed to own it for life.
