The majority of people say that they are waiting for a better graphical experience and no ‘screen door’ effect. Hence the extra interest in this thread. If people are that bothered, why not just keep the PS4? I don’t get all this obsession with BC, the big wish had been for a huge update with next gen games. That’s what I have been seeing as a day one PSVR buyer. |

Horizon VR?? Omg!!! That's a day 1 for sure.
I'm still hopeful it will support PSVR. I know, I know, not compatible. But it sounds like something that can be overcome if they want to. |

At the moment, they're not commenting on backwards compatibility because it's currently probably not a feature. Otherwise, they would've been proud to announce that to wipe out the competition with a larger library of games. They need to draw potential sales now because Quest 2 and other new VR is available now. Quote:

Like trying to aim in Hitman 3 PS4 PSVR which is the fault of the developers more than anything. That game I need to check for an update for PSVR as last time it played like garbage trying to aim. Walking was fine. I would aim, and the target icon would float offscreen as I was aiming. Very frustrating. So sitting too close could be an issue. At least 6 feet away is good with nothing in between the player and the camera's view to the lights. PSVR2 won't have those issues since I hear the headset will have the camera, and be in relation to the handgrips to track. Much more accurate and not dependent on visuals only like PSVR. So if you can spare 5 feet of space between you and the TV or console, that should be fine for PSVR2. |

[Show spoiler] VR is neat, but it'll be interesting to see how much more immersive games can get with the 2nd generation of PSVR. Hopefully the controls and much more precise tracking really opens up the possibilities of VR games. |

I wouldn't mind a PSVR2 game, where you can load up any major city or famous scenic location in the world, and then explore it on foot or as a flying drone, sort of like exploring the city in Matrix Awakens Demo, where the flying camera could go as far as you want without stopping like in Watch Dogs Legion. You'd be able to walk through the city, day/night cycle on fast forward if you want, and even go into some places.
That's true, it takes time and unfortunately there is not a lot of free time or endless energy to get things done fast enough in my opinion. |

Is there anything in this new tech that might help with people who get motion sickness from the current PSVR experience? My wife has PSVR but I've used it very little as it makes me slightly nauseous and, as a result, I get tired out very quickly.

When I turned that tunnel vision on (which can be adjusted to be less or more), it got rid of motion sickness immediately. Then after 30 minutes of that, I started lowering the effect until eventually (after a couple hours) I was playing the game without it on at all. My biggest challenge is jumping in a game and then stopping suddenly. I will close my eyes before I land because that sudden stop causes my sense of motion to get really messed up really fast, resulting in dizziness and nausea if I don't address it right away. Laying on my side for 30 minutes eliminates the dizziness and sick feeling, but that's the only thing I haven't overcome regarding VR. Jumping in a game unless it's a 3rd person game like Astrobot or Moss, those types of games have calm cameras, so zero dizziness from them at all times. In the game Bound, I was fine for most of it until the Roller Coaster levels, where the character is sliding on these ribbons and forget it, dizziness and nausea. Once the dizziness starts, I stop and remove the head set immediately. There is no way to think your way through it unless closing the eyes completely or switching on tunnel vision. In real life, I cannot read a book while being a passenger in a car going over hills and turns, as I get dizzy and feel sick until I stop reading or close my eyes. |

I only experienced the PSVR one time at a family members home when it first came out for about 30 minutes and thought it was amazing! This 2nd gen version looks to make some major improvements and I'm sure I'll jump in.
Only reservation I have is just the general having to wear a headset, but I can deal with that on occasion as I won't be using it daily or anything. Will definitely be doing VR in moderation, but I think it will be a great addition to standard PS5 gaming similar to how I watch the occasional 3d film even though I mostly still watch in 2d. |

I'm waiting for a game of VR where you can visit real life locations and freely walk around in a photorealistic world. That will eventually arrive, but maybe not with the PSVR2 yet.
I'd like to be able to attach a jet pack, and realistically fly into the air. Then again, that won't replicate the sense of really flying other than visually. I was going to say ride a VR motorcycle, but again, nothing replaces the reality of riding a real motorcycle unless they added a motorcycle frame with real motion controls for it. In that case, I rather have my real bike. What would be really crazy, is if when you put on the VR glasses, it replicated your room exactly through a camera's data of the room, and then in the VR room, you'd see it transform in real time into another location, maybe fading away and being replaced by a forest or city. |
