They got something for every member of every family. For the kids, Oliver. For people at least 12, Sense and Sensability. For teenagers, the social network. For the adults, Stripes and Taxi Driver. And for people of any age, Anatomy of the Murder.

I'm in. A varied selection of films and a product that shouldn't really exist in 2021 but it does and that is awesome. Someone high up at Sony must really love physical media.

The Social Network to be the first 2k upscale included in these sets?

I'm fine with the selection of films. Sure I might not like all of them (a picture of Oliver! should be put in the dictionary next to the word overrated) and there are favourites I'd have preferred to be included instead, but I understand that a set like this needs a wide variety of films (which these are) to appeal as many potential buyers as possible.

I was really hoping Little Women (2019) would be in this set, since it was teased in the last one. The likelihood of it getting its own 4K release outside of one of these sets is slim, which is crazy considering it was a Best Picture contender. Hopefully it will be in Volume 3.

This set contains a film from the '50s, '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s and 2010s. It’s a pretty wide range.

I dunno, I'm pretty damn happy with the selection of titles (and Oliver! might actually be my most anticipated tbh). This looks like it's going to be another amazing collection.

In all honesty I’m more excited for this set than volume 1.

When they do the voting thing again, make sure to vote for it

I expected It Happened One Night to be included in the set, it was teased in both surveys and if I remember correctly some people wanted it. Moreover, it would have been the third Capra to be available in 4K UHD.

I'm sure LW will come at some point, though I expect it to be a distant release, probably as filler in their release schedule. Sony has a massive catalog of films that they have to rebuild and remaster for 4K, so they always have something in the pipeline.

I guess the 4k version of The Social Network is aimed at the adult audience too, as it'll contain both the theatrical as well as the Unrated audio tracks.

Yeah, I would've bought several of these if released individually, which isn't the case for Volume 1, though it's nice to have them.

As I recall from the commentary, wasn't the note that gets handed to Zuckerberg in class also changed to remove on-screen visual profanity? I wonder if the "unrated" version will revert to the original shot.

EDIT: sanjuro78 beat me to this in post #115

How can you say it’s not a classic. It’s one of the best films of the last 20 years and proved fully what a master director Fincher is and what a master writer Sorkin is. I remember when it was announced everyone laughed they were making a movie about Facebook. Even when fincher signed on it was still kind of a joke. And it wound up being an absolute masterpiece. Its a classic, may not by the normal definition but it absolutely is.

This is a wet dream lineup for me. I love 5 of the 6.a no brainer pickup for me.

The shots were optically duped to desaturated the color and then the dupes were cut into the final conformed negative. The original unaltered camera negatives of those shots were lost over time, so only the dupes in the final cut negative exist. Discussed in this interview with Grover Crisp from Sony back when they first did the 4K restoration of TAXI DRIVER: https://thedigitalbits.com/featured/...of-taxi-driver

I would love a 4K set of most of the Little Women adaptations!
