I think the first one is one of original posters as well. I think it’d go great with the black color of the 4K blu-ray cases.

[Show spoiler]The US LaserDisc version contains the director's cut with ca. 20 seconds of restored footage that was originally cut to avoid being slapped with the NC-17 by the MPAA. It also has commentary by director Wes Craven and writer Kevin Williamson. In the commentary, Craven notes five places where his cut differs from the theatrical release:
Steve's guts are shown pouring out of him as Casey looks on. In the released version, the very last few moments of this are shown.
Casey hanging from the tree was time compressed in the film release (it is at normal speed here).
When Tatum meets her death by garage door, her head is shown, very briefly being flattened.
After Kenny the cameraman's throat is cut, he stares at the blood on his hand after touching his neck, and then looks up at the killer.
Billy clearly loses control as he delivers his final cuts to Stuart.
After Billy and Stuart have finished stabbing each other, there is a shot of Stu's hand dripping blood into a puddle, with Sidney's father looking on.

It's always worked fine for me as is and I always thought that time compressed pan-in on Drew Barrymore was a stylistic choice, so I'd kinda hate to lose it- getting both cuts would be ideal.

Not so much the score, but the quote, yes. The 'K' of killer was cut/trimmed out so it sounds like, "Mrs. Vorhees was the original --iller." Plus the scene cuts to the shot of Casey trying to spot the GF in the woods in her backyard on the audio cut IIRC. I chalked it up to someone at BV home entertainment editorial/production office messing with edits to compensate the alternate cuts and matching timecodes.

One of the best diamond in the rough easter egg VHS purchases. The circumstances of its production has always been one of those mysteries that's intrigued me given some of the adamant voices here insistent it doesn't exist.

I am almost tempted to grab a VHS player off Ebay just to give the tape a go. Maybe a pawn shop.

Not to totally sidetrack but Face/Off by far is John Woo's best American film.

It's so weird because the final poster doesn't look anything like Drew. It wasn't until I saw this one sheet a number of years ago where it clearly proves it's Drew that I finally believed it was her.

I had the letterbox-only DVD of SCREAM for years so I was so happy when the Blu-ray finally came out! But they've been using the same master since the early 2000's at this point so I expect a new transfer to be a revelation.

What makes me laugh about each re-release of the Scream films is that they always use the same synopsis and reviewer quotes as they were using in the late 90s, so you wind up with a Blu-ray which proudly proclaims Scream to be THE HOTTEST, HIPPEST FILM OF THE YEAR or some shit.
