Thats the worst dvdbeaver review ive seen when it comes to comparison screenshots. They use various sources for each image comparing only to the 4k disc.

If you can,pick up a nice 4k player and you'll be able to downconvert the 4k image (which looks better than a regular blu-ray)to 1080p and still be ready for when you do buy a 4k T.V.I play my Panasonic Plasma like that and it looks amazing.Best Buy has a nice Panny 4k player for around $160.00 or so.Just a thought.

I thought most people knew about Beaver's bad caps. It's why I never left a disclaimer that they may not resemble the actual disc. Guess I'll have to from now on if I even reference them. (Mainly posted it here because at least the tech specs section should be correct)

I gave up warning people outside the forum because the last I did, I got chewed-out as I could not provide "a professional industry source" as an example of bad caps. Some people treat this stuff so religiously pointing out issues is akin to insulting their mother, and then endless source request deflections begin.

It's often just best to let people choke out on their own noxious fumes. I stopped throwing life-lines out to sinking rats a while back. Plus, it's usually a source of private amusement.

Regardless of Beaver's faults with their caps. You can tell the detail will be significantly upgraded. Can't wait to see Caps a holic, or even better see the disc myself!

is the original UA logo in the opening like it was on SF's BD or is it plastered again?

I can't wait to see how the 4k uhd improves on the grain field. Some of the worst shots on the MGM blu ray transfer were bright daylight scenes shot outdoors, with the clear blue sky in the frame, such as where Sutherland is on a rooftop with the city skyline in the backdrop. The skies are swarming a bit with unnaturally coarse grain that almost rises to the level of mild scanner noise. The Shout disc showed a marked improvement in this regard, when viewed against the MGM disc on my 75" oled. The new 4k uhd should resolve the grain much more naturally, and should handlily demolish the prior blu ray transfers.

Does he take his screenshots with his smartphone, like most people, including Geoff D does?

This is actually a serious question, since I've just watched Arrow's UHD of The Hills Have Eyes - which looked very good in 4K - and DVDBeavers screenshots - from whatever method he used to get them - shows some of the differences between the BD and the UHD pretty well.
