There's a horror movie from the actual '70s that shares the basic premise of this one. Can't remember the name of it though.

I totally agree - the first hour of this just draaaaaaaagged. And the funny thing is that they wanted us to believe that ALL of this stuff took place over the course of a one hour episode (which would have only been about 40 minutes of footage on air)? There were multiple guests and tons of things happening so it felt like it just went on forever.
