I already have the disc edition of GoW Ultimate on Xbox One, so if disc owners are included as being eligible for the free upgrade I might just stick with playing it on the Xbox Series X rather than the PS5 Pro.

Now that Gears of War is coming to PlayStation I must say it’s been hilariously entertaining reading a lot comments online for loyal PlayStation muppets about being excited over Gear of War coming to the PS5 and how they have never played it before.

I don't understand what you're trying to claim with the "loyal PlayStation muppets" comment. Just because people are "loyal" which is pretty typical of fans towards sports, movies etc. and tend to say certain things towards others doesn't mean they somehow will have gone and played a particular game if it wasn't on their platform and they never ever owned the Xbox for example with Gears of War.

I've had a PlayStation primarily and played on an Xbox at a friends house like once where we did a MP session of Halo PvP locally and when my brothers got a 360 for a bit i played Fable, but i never played some of the other games at all. So to me, being able to play gears of War firstly as a gamer is cool. The fact its a previously Xbox exclusive doesn't seem to mean as much as you think, because there's a precedent for that, but the fact it's an MS owned title coming to PlayStation is a pretty seismic moment to show how much gaming has changed. Yes, i'm excited to play Gears of War on my PlayStation at some point, but i don't know which part of that would make me or others "muppets"

Seems like I hit a nerve of at least one PlayStation fanboy. I think my comment was clear with what I was implying, I don’t see how you didn’t understand it, it’s more likely that you were offended by it which is why you felt the need to respond to pointlessly defend your position and the brand loyalty you have towards Sony.

Gears of War is a 20 year old game and if you’re only going to play in now for the first time because it’s finally coming to PlayStation then that’s ridiculous in my opinion, people that have never bought an Xbox to play it is what’s wrong with this hobby, and quite frankly it’s my opinion that PlayStation fanboys that have never owned an Xbox out of some strange sense of brand loyalty to play games like Gear of War don’t deserve Xbox exclusive titles on PS5 now.

Being loyal to a sports team is different to a customer being loyal to a brand that is just trying to sell you a product and only wants and cares about your money. Sony aren’t your friends and neither is Microsoft, so why care about them to extreme degrees to the level that you offer them your loyalty?

Don’t get me wrong, there are products I like and buy regularly, grocery items would probably be the best example, but in no way I am loyal to any of these brands, I would happily buy a different brand product to try especially if there’s something about it that I saw value in.

I’ve owned every PlayStation and Xbox console, and still do, I’m the opposite of you, I’m no fanboy or companies loyal supporter, or ambassador that gives them free marketing online, and I’m a smarter person for it. Loyal fanboys supporters have contributed to where we are now with console gaming, Sony taking the crown and being number 1 isn’t a good thing, it means moving forward less competition and higher prices are in store for everyone, and the fanboys and loyal supporters have themselves to blame. If Microsoft couldn’t beat Sony in the console market, no company will ever try to take on Sony for the top spot ever again, there is no point because there’s too much fan bias from loyal PlayStation fanboys like yourself in this world, who have spoken and they will never change and won’t be converted to different a console product even if the product was objectively better than a PlayStation. That’s how big Sony’s PlayStation brand power is.

The only one acting like a fanboy is you. You don't think there are Xbox gamers who have never bought a PlayStation to play God of War, Uncharted, The Last of Us, Horizon, etc? Your rant is weird. There are a lot of young PS gamers out there who weren't even born when the original Gears came out. So yeah, they will be experiencing it for the first time. There are also a lot of people who can only afford to support one console. You just sound disgruntled that Xbox is now a multiplat publisher.

Nice to hear, even though it's just the 1st game.

We still need Gears of War 2-5 and Judgment.

I need PS5 ports of Sunset Overdrive and Quantum Break, two of the biggest Xbox games left I desire.

Ori games would make for lovely PS5 platformers, hopefully they get ported eventually.

Didn't know PS5 had Dolby Vision support, or will GoW be the first game to support it on PS5?

No MS account required, I think this is a first for multi-platform Xbox online games.
Quote:
Gears of War: Reloaded is built for shared play — whether you’re teaming up in split-screen or jumping online. The Campaign supports two-player co-op, and Versus Multiplayer allows up to 8 players. With cross-play across all platforms, you and your friends can squad up no matter where you play — no Microsoft account required.
I assume the below quote means there will be Dual Sense support, along with PSSR for the PS5 Pro Enhanced version.
Quote:
And wherever you play, we’re meeting you there with the best version possible. Gears of War: Reloaded includes platform-specific features that make the most of the hardware you already own to deliver a world-class Gears of War experience — faithful to the original, optimized for today, and made for everyone.

Conflicting information about if it can be added to PS5. At the very least SONY might have to pay a license fee that would need to be passed to consumers and issue a firmware update. Other reports say you need actual hardware to support it but I can't find concrete info about that.

I've compared 4K movies running on PS5 and on my standalone 4K player that does support Dolby Vision. The differences are nearly imperceptible. Way too big a thing is being made about it.

Gears of War, nice for PS5, probably in 2025.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 24 would be good on PS5 if it can be played without being online, which is possible on PC.

The question is: will Gears of War be on disc?

I'm sure it could easily fit on a 100GB disc but knowing Microsoft it may require a download for no good reason.

Imagine calling Killzone the Halo "killer," and then years later it's Halo that replaces Killzone on PlayStation consoles. lol

RIP, DriveClub and Killzone.

Now just give me a "reloaded" of 2 and 3 on PS5 and I'll be happy.

I wonder if Microsoft will release Rare Replay on other consoles. I hope it’s being considered for release.
