It could also be perhaps that I know more about audio than you.

I've never heard of this being done before you. Are you satisfied with the results? Does it help "center" the dialogue with the screen?

They are actually meant to go on the side walls. Surrounds go on the sides, not the back. If your seating position is all the way up against the back wall like mine is, then you can often get away with putting your surrounds on the back wall. However if your seating position is not up against a wall then the surrounds should go on the sides. This, along with the front stage (front left, right and center) and your subwoofer, makes a proper 5.1 setup. To go to a 7.1 setup, you add two more speakers, called surround backs, which are meant to go on the back wall.
In an ideal situation, bipole speakers are maximized at the rear of the room, facing the front speakers. But of course, with other variables in play, including a quick reality check. we have a sticky dedicated to the study of bipolar and dipolar speakers, and their purpose in this thread bipolar dipolar speakers sticky

(care of big daddy of course)

good point, we make assumptions via pictures, room dimensions, and yet havent really listened to them. a good starting point would be using a spl meter, as well as a a great software program to check the levels. even then, we dont have a concrete way to do comparisons and measurements without including other variables.

again, reality sets in here. we have a million ways to improve our setups, both conventional and unconventional methods. ive seen this also been used to a certain degree, to get the best performance for a larger home setup. it may work for others, it may not work for others as well.

ive also done this before, and considered it unorthodox, but a great solution to those whose center channels arent as efficient as their fronts. in this case, i wouldnt mind having two center speakers.

Thanks as well for the reply on the Klipsch S-2 Surrounds, jomari.

I have gone thru and read all the threads I can find in this Forum, including the sticky's on Bipole/Dipole Speakers and their Placements.
I think it will just be a matter of trying them on both the Side and Rear Walls. Then I can get an idea of what position will be most effective in,when in actual use in my room.

Considering I have NEVER used a Bipole Speaker before, trying these will be a new experience all the way around. So,just getting used to the way they radiate sound will take a while before I can determine their prime surround position.

But I do believe it will be a Fun Time in trying them for the first time,as well as trying them in their different positions.
Again,Thanks for the Help.

my pleasure!

the thing about our hobby is that there is always room for experimentation, what works for you, and what doesnt. its also a matter of compromise, as most of our rooms are not dedicated listening areas, but more or less living spaces.

bipoles, are quite efficient, and with the proper placement, you can definitely have a blast owning em.

quick suggestion, make sure you have enough slack on both surround speaker wires, to play around with placement. makes sense to cut AFTER your ideal placement.

In case anyone's interested, we've finally come by way of a picture of the white RS-25 surrounds. I knew they made them in white, but had never been able to find a pic or see them in person.

Woah,are those Speakers Beautiful.
I am normally not a fan of white speakers, but the way these look and the angles in the construction of the cabinets make me change my mind on white speakers(at least in this case).

I feel pretty much the same. I could kinda visualize what they would look like in my head, but they look much better than I expected. I was pleasantly surprised by them.

Just bought a pair of RB 51's a few minutes ago.Should have them in a week or so. I'll add pic's to my gallery when they are finally up! Next, saving for the RC-62, then the RS 52's.....man upgrading is a lot of work......I was told to stay away from Klipsch for subs......so....What would you get for a sub ?

The 51's are great, I put a pair in the bedroom, they put out more bass then I thought possible for a speaker so small. When looking at subs there's tons of choices, read the sub forum, you'll get the idea of what's hot and what's not.

You could get a really nice sub for $500. As already suggested, be sure to hit the subwoofer forum for the best advice when you're getting ready to buy.

The RF-82 is a bigger speaker capable of handling more power. The RF-82's have larger woofers than the RF-62s and can play a little lower in the frequency range (33Hz vs 38Hz). They both have the same tweeter. The RF-82 is 1dB more efficient than the RF-62, and the RF-82 can also handle more power continually than the RF-62 (150 watts RMS vs 125). Those are pretty much the differences according to the specs. I'm not sure if that's the answer you were looking for though. You can see the numbers for your self here.

So far so good I guess....seems to actually blend from what I can tell. You see I rushed into going after B&W's and decided I liked the Klipsch sound after I had already bought the B&W center.Lesson learned I guess! Now with the awesome RB-81's as mains and RB-51's as rear surrounds I need the RC 62...

and then the RS-52's........and the Emotiva....ah...um..uh....umm here I go again! =)
