Why is this steelbook in such high demand? The steelbook itself looks pretty good but the movie was terrible. Did this have low production numbers or somethin?

Its the SteelBook that started it all in Canada, FutureShops's very first one. Its hard to find as well

Maybe it's just me but I like Iron Man so much better than IAL, I don't understand the buzz over it. (beside completism)

I bought it on release date because I wanted to watch the movie and hold the amaray and the SB before picking the Steelbook, I almost choosed the amaray! I think it isn't a good looking Steel... (IMHO)

I still remember Iron Man though, I got addicted the second I saw it.

I think this is the first Blu-ray SteelBook from Future Shop.

Of course Future Shop had been releasing DVD SteelBooks for years before that, but I AM LEGEND came out in two SteelBooks -- one for DVD and one for Blu-Ray.

The DVD version is still available in some stores.

Personally, I thought the movie was okay, but not re-watchable, so it is not on my want list.

I have a question....I am new to the whole steelbook thing but I do have one that I would like to get an idea of what it is worth.
Keep in mind that I only have the steel case no disc.

and the back is like this one

It was given to me by a friend along with other DVD steelcases.

If it's the Blu-ray case (ie with the blue band at the top as pictured above) you've got yourself gold.

If it's just the DVD case, it's not worth much at all.

I think he's asking why his back case looks different than the picture above... Rayjr that is what the back looks like... If your copy is sealed you can't see the case but instead just the paper insert with movie info printed on it...

I'm Legend steelbook was my first steelbook ever, however it was a DVD copy
Did not have my PS3 at the time.
Dang if I only knew I would have picked one up as well as Iron Man when it came out. I could have been a few hundred dollars richer.

If its the same height and width as the rest of your steelbooks given to you it's the DVD version and unfortunately is not worth anything. Blu-Ray steelbooks are shorter in height and longer in width. Best indication is whether it has the blue Blu-Ray bar at the top on the front as another member has mentioned.

At first i really wanted to collect Steelbooks, but after a few months, i just realize it's just a metal case.... i mean i buy Blu-Ray just because it's a certain movie, and i don't even watch it...

I should just sell my IronMan and such... look at I am Legend, the price is just ridiculous... it's only a CASE... the disc is quite the same as the normal version.

Tomorrow there's Terminator 4 coming out, i'm still asking myself "why am i going to go to Futureshop at 10 am to buy this ?"

I'll just watch it once, then it will collect dust. I could just rent it for 4$



But in the end.... i'm still going to wake up early and go buy it... ....
