Think of it this way, don't you think at the office or at a sporting event that people would react this way far less if on your break or between innings they would be able to wander a few hundred feet to their fully furnished trailer and play a little Xbox to calm themselves down?

Not the computer messing up but someone else. You've been working your butt off for a few hours trying to get something done on time and someone just come's along and totaly mess this up. Would you not get angry?

I am not saying what he did or said was not wrong but what I mean is everyone lose it sometime for the most stupid things and you just lash out at something or someone, many time someone who might not be deserving of yoru anger (they just happen to be there) or most of the time at the person who just drove you over the edge. Yes he might need anger management help, its possible that he as trouble keeping his anger in check but truly are you telling me that everyone on this forum as never lost it and truly got angry for the most stupid thing? If not then all I can say is WOW!! you guys are amazing.

It's not different. He may have been in the process of giving one of the best performances of his life. It's not like he can go back and do the exact same thing he was doing the exact same way again. He's a man not a Memorex.

Classic. The victim apologizing for the abuser.

Can you say "Dysfunctional"?

ok maybe you did, but someone (BLU MAN?) wrote that part above, "Bruce Franklin (the guy getting yelled at), had this to say..." - which was incorrect.
My mistake. I apologize.

True, but the way I see it is he is not going to win anything out of it too.

Unless he proves me wrong in this and gives a oscar worthy performance.

This is truly funny that this thread is up over 225 replies. The guy might have an anger problem (this, the mother/sister thing), but wow. Talk about getting a lot of run! You'd think they would have "leaked" it the week of Terminator actually Opening, but that's months away!

And its not like Bale is a great actor, so the fact his ego seems way out of proportion just makes it worse lol.
Yes I will give you that, depending on the time of the game the damage could be done and impossible to repair.

As for great actor, well most of them do end up with a ego that is a bit large. They are being told by so many all day long that they are wonderful and great and whatever, all people trying to attach themselves to the actors for whatever reason. Talent or not after a while they just believe it to be totaly true. Celebrity as a way of screwing with your head, only the most level people manage to remain who they are.

Wow, no need for that. It doesn't matter how into the role he was he didn't have to go off like that.

Yelling "Oh what the F***!" after the incident is blowing off steam.

Yelling demeaning insults for almost 4 mins. is a tantrum. McG should have done his job better and defused the situation. After 30-40 seconds of the tirade he should have step in and told Bale to cool it.

First of all, it was obviously a rehearsal Bale was involved in because the DP doesn't go around adjusting the lighting while a shot is taking place. The DP of all people on the set is not going to walk into his own shot. On the other hand, I do have to defend Bale because he was in the midst of crafting what will likely be a remarkable performance...I mean, when you are doing something of the caliber of Shakespeare....

...wait...you mean this was for 'Terminator 4'? 'TERMINATOR F-ing FOUR'?!? ARE YOU F'ING KINDDING ME?! WHAT KIND OF F'ING HACK CAN'T KEEP HIS HEAD STRAIGHT READING LINES IN AN F'ING McG MOVIE??! HOW F'ING UNPROFESSIONAL IS THAT?!?! F!!

I disagree - Anthony Hopkins would have said "alright, alright, look you've just disrupted the scene so please try and be professional okay? From the top everyone?"

..and bingo back into the scene.

Some cats have it, some cats don't. When I used to act I found it very easy to be in and out of character. I understand not everyone's that way, but to hammer on the way Bale did is not understandable nor is it excusable.

As for the above, with the DP going around during rehearsal or not, IF that was a Rehearsal and Bale went off like That, dude has some serious issues. I'd think it was during filming, it was wrong, yes, a mistake, but to go on for almost 4 mins! (3:51), the DIRECTOR or an Exec. of some sort, a producer, has to Grow a Pair and put an end to it. Cuz' you know there's all the Crew members around watching this meltdown and one of their own get lambasted for a mistake. Rehearsal or not, it's not like he blew a $250,000 explosion filled 1-chance only action scene now was it?

Hilarious how some actors behave. Good thing they act, because they'd be f'd in the business world.

SO....Hans Zimmer is conducting an orchestra...they are laying down an epic piece of a major score...and one of the cellists muffs his part for the 2nd or 3rd time. The whole recording is ruined and they ALL have to start from the top. One of the violinists goes "Bale" on the cellist. Is that OK? Nope.

You've seen that happen, without repercussions?

I sort of doubt you're hanging out with VPs and presidents of corporations - no offense.

So many people are making this a huge deal. This probably happens more times than you think in the movie business. I am sure I would be pissed if I were in the middle of a scene and some guy who is suppose to be the director of photography and know what he is doing just walks in the scene and messes it up. I dont blame Bale people are idiots especially as time keeps progressing. He was probably just having a bad day like we all have and this idiot just ruined it more. Oh well this DP probably learned his lesson.
