i'm looking forward to Iron Banner because the gear and shaders always look badass, and the weapons and armor are usually top notch. They've been raid equivalent in the past, fingers crossed they will be again. I would be very disappointed if the armor is limited to 300.

So I did the daily today as part of a 2 man fireteam. I made it a point to get all three new ghosts that were added to this story mission. It made it a bit tougher, with added pressure to not die to ensure we could grab all three ghosts without having to start all over after a wipe. Once we defeated the hydra boss, we didn't scan the skeleton, and went on to grab the third ghost. From there is when it got really cool. Grabbing the third ghost is what activated a new set of jumping platforms which allowed us to enter the once "dead" vex gate portal at the bottom, kind of closer to where you would enter the Gatekeeper section. So we passed through the new active portal, and we started a new Ultra boss fight. Tons of adds, and an invisible boss Minotaur. Once it was over, there was one more "VoG" (hidden 6th?) chest that had a Cult ghost shell inside from Praedyth. It's not a ghost shell that you can equip. It just sits in one of your "missions" slots. Voiceover tells you to visit Future War Cult, so you can turn it in. But all you get is rep, so I'm holding on to it for now.

I'm pretty sure it will be 280 if it's for sale. 290 max.

Tonight is when we discussed raiding. Adam messaged me earlier about it. I couldn't do it but he wanted to so he took control of it. I'm still planning on it. I've got a lot of cleaning up to do this weekend, just so the fiber optic man can get to the part of the basement he will need to reach. I was reminded of that late last night, as well.

Why?

The last iron banner I did, granted it was a very long time ago, was selling level 30 (VoG equivalent) boots and gloves, but not a full set.

No way Iron Banner matches or meaninglessly beats every other vendor.

I would expect 300 at an absolute minimum, and not a full set to be sold, just like in the past.

It's possible they go incrementally higher with each iteration. 290 this time, 300 the next, 310 shortly before the next light level increase (hard raid?)

the only place its going to lead to is providing Bungie with ongoing income to produce new missions and quests. They're firmly against any sort of "pay to win" system, I'm trusting them on this.

This is how they've done every iron banner after every update. Start with vendor level and slowly introduce a piece or two of higher level gear on subsequent events.

I could've sworn all of the armor I got from IB was the same level. It would take me to level 32 but that was it.

Not correct.

During CE iron banner gear was raid level, but after HOW it needed to be ascended to reach max level.

This time I can see the gear being 280 from the vendor, but a random roll from 280-300 in a drop.

They never sell IB at full light level. They always start off lower and you have to ascend it.

Regardless of what level it'll come at, I just hope the gear will be aesthetically pleasing, and won't look completely ridiculous. If it does show up at 280, infusion is easy and pie and these Legendary Marks roll in like there's no tomorrow. It's kinda silly to be honest.

I already own at least one of every vendor weapon I want, as well as all the "Year Two" versions of the old exotics. In fact, I have even purchased 3 pieces of vendor armor purely for their aesthetic value because I don't know what the hell else to do about consistently being at or near 200 marks.

We need more ways to spend marks, for sure. It'd be awesome to get a separate selection of class items without any stats, that cost 200 marks to purchase and can be used to turn your current class item's look into that one. Hell, I would give up 3 weeks of marks and 25K glimmer to turn any of these crappy new cloaks into the excellent level 2 cloak I used back before it became obsolete.

Bungie really screwed us with this new light level f*ckery. Taking away the only cosmetic choice we really had, and making us all look the same.
