Wow, interesting story. I wonder if that driver even knew what was going on before he got hit by your train.

And if a suicider jumping in front of your train isn't horrific enough, you had to deal with two. I just can't imagine.

Helps that for now the 4K and Blu Ray are separate because I mostly buy 4K titles now and for the moment that's a more manageable sized collection. For me the 3D are mixed in with the regular Blu Rays.

I generally prefer individual cases to box sets but it solves the Above the Law and Under Siege problems that I wasn't haveing. The Fast and Furious and Harry Potter Sets have pretty good design in terms of being able to get to the content easily while saving space and organizing a bit at the same time.

I have been buying Blu Ray more often lately though because I stopped buying online copies and some new releases don't initially come to UHD BD.

Most of my DVDs have been put in storage.... if a reason to watch those comes up I know where to find them.

I keep my collection alphabetised too. But I do cheat a little bit.
Some sequels like Finding Dory or Meet The Fockers should come before their predecessors if you go by alphabet but it just felt wrong, so I put them behind the first ones.

My DVD collection has all been replaced by Blu ray's over the years, so I don't own them anymore. I gave most them away.
I have 34 DVD's left that I'm looking to replace but almost none of them have a Blu ray release.

The US Army once ruled Pyongyang and 5 other things you might not know about the Korean War - CNN

Quote:
Seventy years ago this week, more than 135,000 North Korean troops invaded South Korea, starting a war that cost millions of lives and left scars that linger to this day.

Yet, the Korean War has been forever overshadowed by World War II, a much larger conflict that ended less than five years earlier. Even the US Army refers to Korea as "the Forgotten War" -- despite more than 36,000 American lives lost.
Sixteen nations, including the United States, sent combat troops in aid of South Korea under the United Nations Command. Chinese troops intervened on the North Korean side.

War broke out on June 25, 1950, when North Korean forces stormed across the 38th parallel dividing North and South Korea. An armistice signed on July 27, 1953, stopped the conflict, but the war never officially ended because there was no peace treaty.
Besides all the films done from American perspective in the 50's and 60's (1959 Pork Chop Hill) , the south Korean film industry has a lot of great films the most famous being 2004 Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood Of War. (Two brothers end up on opposite sides)

Yes, War Movies might look exciting and amazing, but it's nothing like the real thing. War is terrible, and we should avoid it at all cost. Most of the time we look back and wonder how we got into the conflict.

Anyway, on a lighter note there is a movement in the House for a Gigabit Fiber Plan. We as a Nation are falling behind in the Internet Tech side, 25/3 Mbps is a pathetic Speed. I have said for many years Copper is Obsolete as an Infrastructure, and Fiber is The Future!

World War II divided Korea into a Communist, northern half and an American-occupied southern half, divided at the 38th parallel. It was that plus Russia empowering Kim Il-sung as a leader when he had his own agenda of overrunning all of Korea.

Yes, I started with Pacific Telephone back in 1965 under the umbrella of AT&T Old Ma Bell, and they had a lot of strict rules and corporate ways. Then Old Judge Green came around and broke us up in 1986, and things loosened up and changed. PacBell was born, and we became the Golden Child of The West. I think our most prosperous years in the late '80's and 90's. I Retired in 1996, and shortly after they were back under the AT&T name.

AT&T did roll out Copper U-Verse, which I thought was a mistake. Then they changed to Gigabit Fiber, but only in certain locations that looked promising. The Average Person didn't know or care about their Facilities, all they wanted was cheap Internet. So the Fiber roll outs stopped, and they were left with the Aging Obsolete Copper!

Interesting back story to the current state of connectivity. Thanks for that insight. I just feel sorry when they have roll one or more trucks to resolve some twisted copper issue.

While it was only removed from streaming for two weeks I am happy to say that no one can pull such a maneuver with my discs. I can watch my discs as they are and I feel quite comfortable watching a movie without being briefed beforehand. I have somehow managed all of these years to watch movies without being trained first; how ever did I survive without this guidance?

Scoob hasn't show up on HBO Max yet today.

Hope they aren't busy trying to write the disclaimer.

Scoob did not get very good reviews, so unless I hear otherwise from some people that have seen it I doubt that I will watch this movie, yet alone buy it.

Nothing wrong with copper coax if implemented correctly, your statement should read obsolete “twisted pair copper”.

The ISP should have fiber from the frame to local neighborhoods (nodes) then have limited coax feeds from the nodes. Much cheaper to implement yet provide fairly high speeds. Just checked my speed and it showed 261 Mbps down, 18 up.

Even older DOCSIS 3.0 (August 2006) can do 1000 Mbps down, DOCSIS 3.1 (October 2013) can do 10,000 Mbps down.

I"m sure I've seen worse Scooby Doo movies. Either way I want to find out.

I'm not ready to buy or rent it ... but watch it ... sure ... For better or worse.

I guess I'm with AlChav21 today, steaming for the win.

Spineless streaming services remove another TV episode due to it being deemed "objectionable."

Netflix Pulls ‘Community’ Episode ‘Advanced Dungeons & Dragons’ Due to Blackface Scenes (Exclusive)

https://www.thewrap.com/community-ad...lix-blackface/

The episode "Advanced Dungeons & Dragons" is one of my favorites. The actor wearing "blackface" in this episode is pretending to be a Drow, or a dark elf, a well known creature in both Dungeons & Dragons and in fantasy literature. It also serves as an opportunity for the show to parody the wearing of blackface at the same time.

I am thankful that I own this series on blu-ray where these cowardly streaming service executives are powerless to censor the content.

I keep finding more reasons to dislike streaming when I already had plenty as it was. Disclaimers are not good enough; explanatory introductions are not good enough. Increasingly, all content that might possibly offend anyone must be removed. Pathetic.

Streaming is a steaming pile alright, now more than ever before.

I am open to watching this movie, even buying it, if I start to hear good things about it.

Warner Bros. delays Tenet to August 12th as COVID-19 cases spike in the United States - The Verge 6/26/20

Quote:
Warner Bros. has announced that it’ll be delaying the release of Tenet — the studio’s mysterious time-manipulating summer blockbuster from director Christopher Nolan — by another two weeks, moving the planned release from July 31st to August 12th as COVID-19 cases continue to spike around the United States.

Warner Bros. is still adamant that that $200 million Tenet will debut in a movie theater, commenting in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter that “Warner Bros. is committed to bringing Tenet to audiences in theaters, on the big screen, when exhibitors are ready and public health officials say it’s time.” It’s a commitment that comes at a time when studios — including Warner Bros. itself — are increasingly turning to video-on-demand and streaming releases for their films in light on the ongoing closure of movie theaters around the country.

With the shift of Tenet to August, all eyes are on Disney’s Mulan, which is currently scheduled for a release of July 24th, which would make it the first summer blockbuster to hit theaters — unless Disney moves the release date again.

No I fully believe that Copper is out and we need a Gigabit Fiber Standard. The Cable Companies have a DOCSIS 4.0, but I still think that Fiber is the answer for The Future. With an Open Fiber Network Standard, you can still connect to the ISP or any Provider of your choice.

DOCSIS 3.1 can support multiple Gbps networking, lets not claim that fiber is ideal, perfect. Fiber doesn't have the same conductor durability, can bend without damage. I worked with both. It might be nice that AT&T uses fiber but clearly you just told us in previous post about cost.
