Have it preordered from Amazon, would have hoped for a bit of a price drop before release, but never mind (was also hoping it would have dispatched by now, but alas not).

You and me both regarding the dispatch. Amazon UK is getting to be such a gamble with pre-orders lately (and Amazon US as well). I ordered this and Indicator's LE of The Last Movie a full two months ago. The Last Movie release date came and went and now it is out of stock. I was given a boiler plate "promise" from support that it will be in stock within 1 to 2 months. Then this morning Amazon sent me an email stating the same for One Cut of the Dead being out of stock. One Cut doesn't even show as available to order from Arrow even if I wanted to pay more to ensure I get a copy. I apparently need to re-think where I place pre-orders from in the future for LE releases.

On the topic of One Cut of the Dead itself, I'll be really sad if I miss out on this LE. The movie is a masterpiece of indie film making (imo) and I've been anticipating going through all the extras when it arrives, particularly the making of and Go Pro version.

HMV would have got it to us on day 1. Sure hope they survive...

I ordered direct from Arrow, as i thought it would be best because amazon simply can't be trusted anymore with preorders and with HMV not looking good it was a no brainer.

I didn't think this would sell out so soon on Arrow and HMV, there is some listed on ebay, looks like they are going quick.

One Cut Of The Dead (Blu-ray) £19.99
eBay: entertainment store Limited quantity available

Just noticed Blue Spring and Top Knot Detective on the Arrow store, ordered both.

Got my copy of One Cut of the Dead in today. Noticed a wee typo on the slipcover.

nice to see One Cut in the top 15 on amazon, would also be nice if they would ship it since I pre-ordered in middle of December

Mine was shipped last night, the original estimated delivery was Sat 2nd Feb but then they bumped it up to today. Hopefully you'll get yours soon.

I’m keen to pick this up although a little disappointed to see commentaries aren’t ported over as I expect the real value of this low budget indie release is the insights into how the project came to pass and the route from boobs and rice to bumbling and blood. I expect it would be a challenge to subtitle them though since I think there are 13 participants in either or both serious and funny commentaries.

Is the bonus extras disc a blu ray or dvd? The disc review on Blu-ray.com says the release is single bd-25 which I presume refers to movie disc only? Amazon.co.jp offers a further disc of “rehearsal version” which sounds interesting (a test run thru or table reading equivalent?) but of course it’s not English friendly and very expensive. I expect This Third Window release is the best version to get and they deserve our support so we can continue to see fine releases and maybe more Sabu and Tsukamoto. Maybe they can find an audience for Miike’s As the Gods Will which looks intriguing.

I decided to bite the bullet and pre-order/blind buy this... My order shipped yesterday from Amazon and is scheduled to arrive on the 13th.....

I'm really glad this movie seems to be doing so well for TWF, and hopefully it lives up to my expectations!

The bonus disc is a blu-ray – judging from the picture they posted on Facebook. I doubt they'd pick up As the Gods Will, but there is a US blu-ray release if you're region free...

I had a look in the box last night, the bonus disc is a Blu.

I'm in the same boat as you & I pre-ordered 10 days after my birthday at the end of November. Mine says it should arrive by Monday or Tuesday next week but I'd rather it arrive before then.

Strange... I preordered my copy as soon as it was announced and Amazon delivered it to me yesterday, on release day. That said, it's the first pre-order I've had from Amazon in a long time that they haven't royally ballsed up so I do feel for you both.

I'd recommend getting on live chat and having a moan, their policy seems to be to give anyone who does that a £5 voucher or a free month of Prime (which is fair, considering people aren't getting what they pay for with it).

Ordered yesterday, received today. Basically Amazon punish people who don't have Prime no matter how early they order.

You could say that about Prime members as well

Like the time they delivered my copy of Orgies of Edo to some random person who now knows that I'm a pervert. I'm sure they already had their suspicions.

I do have Prime and I've been repeatedly let down by it. More pre-orders than not have failed to arrive when they should over the last two years. They seem to redefine what "expedited delivery" means every time I speak to them.

It would probably be even worse if you didn't have Prime. I've had a few pre-orders late, but recently some on the Sunday before. It is annoying where they have the Prime logo on something but actually ship from Europe and it takes three days. The term Prime is used very loosely by them.

Actually, my problems started happening when I signed up for Prime. never had anything early, had more late than on time (and that's a big majority as well, not just a few). I don't doubt that people get punished for not being Prime customers these days to some extent, but the simple fact is that Amazon don't give a shit about their customers and in the current era where HMV appear to be on the way out (time will tell) they're only likely to get worse because there's no competition in the same league as them.

Watched One Cut of the Dead last night. It's really really good. I totally recommend it. It's way better if you go in completely blind too.
