This movie can't get enough credit....

Not sure if any of you HT enthusiasts ever done this before but considering your on this site I'm sure you have. I had 15 minutes before I had to run out the door, nobody home, and was dying for a HT/Knock your socks off sonic ass-kicking...

With no one home I throw on the first action scene, turn it up to 11, sat back, and enjoyed the crap out of it. The soundtrack is such a great compliment to the action sequences. What a great action flick!

I think it's hilarious because he doesn't even seem particularly angry, just slightly inconvenienced in a way.

Looking to score Mad Max this upcoming week on Thursday 6am at Meijer when they will have it for $7.00. I waited this long to pick it up so hopefully it pays off. Loved this one when I saw it in the theater. My wife saw it with me and hated it with a passion. I didn't quite explain to her much about what kind of movie it would be. Oh well. I will put it in the player 1st chance I get when kids/wife are not around and crank up the sound bar!

Recently watched Mad Max: Fury Road for the first time - excellent film! Since I grew up with the original Mel Gibson MM films back in the day, I wasn't sure I would like this as much. However, I felt FR was an incredible flick that really captured the post-apocalyptic world of MM, even more than the previous films. The albinos (possibly a result of living underground because of radiation?!) hadn't really been see in previous films. And, the various deformities some characters had appeared to me to be a result of radiation poisoning...

That being said, it is tough to compare this movie to the previous three MM films - first of all, the last one (Beyond Thunderdome) came out 30 years ago, and of course the main actor is different. So, it's so far removed from the other films & so dissimilar in other ways (effects, editing, etc.) that as far as I'm concerned it's definitely a stand-alone movie...

Though Mad Max was supposedly the "main character" of the film, I felt that Charlize Theron really stole the show as the "Furiosa" character. Her kick-ass attitude but at the same time compassion towards some of the other characters (notably the defenseless women) is a difficult dichotomy to pull off, but was well-done here. Her mechanical, artificial arm was cool as well. And, she looks great with short hair - not all women can pull off that look effectively...

Apparently the B&W version might get a theatrical release, I guess that would explain them leaving it off the Blu-ray.

They'll probably do what they did with Gravity's Silent Space thing, we'll get it in a Neo Case along with a couple other docs after Mad Max gets nominated for Best Picture and wins a bunch of technical Oscars.

You think it will get a Best Picture nomination? Outside of technical awards the only thing I can see it getting is a best actress nomination for Theron.

It's been picking up quite a few Best Picture wins and nominations so far, so I don't think an Oscar nomination is implausible, especially with up to 10 Best Picture nominees. I don't think it'll win, though.

People said the same thing about The Matrix as it was groundbreaking in a similar way, but it only got technical nominations. I guess we will see.
