Never find a bargain in Oxfam. Too many busybodies looking things up on ebay...

£1.99 from Oxfam

TranSylvania is a blind buy but I trust in Peccadillo/Petit Peche

not seen much Greek Weird Wave outside of Dogtooth (advertised on the front cover!) - looking forward to Harvest

£1 from Cancer Research - they also have other Disney Classics on BD on the bottom shelf behind the boxsets

RSPCA has some BFI Ozus for £2 each - but missing the BD, so only useful if you only want the bonus film and booklet.

As I travel the country for work, I visit the charity shops when I get the chance, but I never find anything amazing like you lucky buggers. It always seems to be the same mainstream film's in every shop that I own or that I'm not interested in.

Anyway, managed to get a nice little haul today, all Blu-rays.
  • The Pacific (Cardboard box edition) £4
  • Step Brothers £1 — This blind buy I bought because of a recent podcast that made it sound interesting. It can always be re-donated.
  • Le Mans '66 £1
  • All The President's Men £1 — Interestingly, this a US copy. This box was sealed, and the faded barcode sticker mentioned that it was an import copy

Never much in the blu-ray department in my locals but snagged these 3 for a quid recently. The Fallen Ones was predictably terrible and is already winging its way to a new home via ebay. Evil Dead I grabbed for the extras that I don't have on other releases and Jesse James was sealed with a £24.99 HMV price tag still attached

Because of the cut status that's about what the UK version is worth as far as I am concerned but I'd still have picked it up just to have a spare case I can use for Frankensteining.

Once I told Clare that the UK edition was missing a woman getting booted in the head, she didn't want it - just remember that The Toolbox Murders contains her favourite cinematic one-punch tw*tting.

She picked up the US version of Tenet instead.

£5.99 and £1.99 from Oxfam - though will still hold onto the DVD of The Illusionist for the lengthy extras, but I’m sure it will look better in HD. US release is BD25 rather than BD50 and Region A locked. I know some French releases from this era suffer from disc rot, but this plays fine and while it’s pretty vanilla, the character design/animatics featurette is very interesting. Site/user review for the transfer on Encounters seems negative but other sites are more positive but there are limitations to early digital HD cameras and it’s not interlaced as the US disc is.

Coffee & Cigarettes for a quid! Bargain. Shame that hasn't had a UK Blu-ray, I'd buy it immediately.

Was back home to Ireland recently, took a spin around a few some Dublin charity shops while passing through and got this in an Oxfam for a quid;

From the local BHF, not much turnover in the discs section lately but the occasional finds. Wasn't familiar with Wholphin prior to finding this (neat magazine/DVD anthology series McSweeneys published in the 2000s collecting short films that otherwise fell off the festival circuits);

£2 and £1.50 in two Oxfams. No BD of the Second Run title;

And from today for a quid, a Parker I haven't seen yet;

What extras does the BD of the Tati related film have?
