Oregon is playing another typical game. Over 700 yards of offense and 75 points between Oregon and USC through 3 quarters. Looks like Oregon is going to remain undefeated though.
I was hoping the undefeated ranks would thin a little more but Utah held on to narrowly defeat Air Force. Utah and TCU still play head to head this year though so one of them will drop a game. |

The Longhorns lost at home for the 3rd time this year, falling to 4-4. There's gotta be a lot of panic in Texas over this season. That team still has a few tough games ahead and they're now in 5th place out of 6 teams in the Big 12 South. Mack Brown is lucky he has a national championship in the bank.

Hah. I had no clue till I just saw on my local news but there's an undefeated I-AA college football team in my city. The small traditionally black Daytona Beach college Bethune-Cookman is 8-0 with an average margin of victory of 31 points. I can't remember them ever really having a good team before. They're up to #12 in the latest I-AA rankings. Not bad at all.

If I had to take a guess I'd say the new BCS rankings will look like this.
1. Auburn - Still with a big lead due to strength of schedule 2. Oregon - Another blowout win 3. Boise St. 4. TCU 5. Alabama - Bama is closing in fast thanks to more undefeateds falling 6. Utah - Barely beat Air Force but they'll move up thanks to other teams losing. 7. Oklahoma 8. Wisconsin 9. Ohio St. 10. LSU The only undefeated teams from major conferences left are Auburn and Oregon. I'd be very surprised if Auburn actually wins out. They still have to play @Alabama. There's also a pretty good chance Oregon drops a game. We're facing some potentially odd scenarios for the national title game. 1. Obviously if Oregon and Auburn win out they will be playing for the national title. 2. If only one of those two win out we're in a real mess. If for example Alabama wins out (beating Auburn in the process) would it allow them to still finish ahead of Boise and the winner of the TCU-Utah game? Possibly. 3. If Oregon and Auburn both lose a game either Boise St. or the winner of the TCU-Utah would almost certainly make the national championship. And there's a slim chance you could have a TCU vs. Boise St. title game. But more likely it would be one small conf school vs. a 1-loss major conf school like Alabama. Bottom line: Ditch the BCS so we don't have this nonsense anymore! |

Auburn now only has Georgia/bama. if bama were to lose another game, but beat Auburn, Auburn would still play for the SECC provided we take care of Georgia, which i think we will. that would probably knock us out of the BCSCG though. but then again, you never can tell what will happen in that situation. i still don't think anyone is going to stop our offense and the only way we lose is if we play terrible. our defense isn't great, they're a mediocre defense, but they step up when it's needed and that's all you can ask. |

And that's my fear. I think either Bama or Auburn would beat Boise or TCU fairly easily. Problem is the SEC teams pound each other while Boise plays a crap schedule. I'm actually rooting for Auburn and Oregon to run the table going forward so we get a decent title game. |

There's no excuse for Minnesota sucking that bad at 1-8. The only team they've beaten this year is Middle Tennessee who I never even heard of. And they barely won that game. They need to just clean house and bring in an entirely new coaching staff.

i know stats like this don't mean crap, but here's one for you, talking about bama being tough at home. Auburn is 6-1 against bama in Bryant-Denny Stadium, that one loss was in 2008, which was Auburn's worst season in a LOOOOOONG time. we Auburn fans call Bryant-Denny Jordan-Hare West.

I dunno but that program has a solid history. Looked it up and they actually have an all-time record of 641-468-44. That's a solid .575 all-time win%. They also have 6 national championships, though the last one was in 1960 and 18 conference titles. I wouldn't expect Minnesota to be a Big Ten contender anytime soon but they should be no worse than a mid-level Big Ten team if managed properly.
