No arguments from me....Pretty much says it all. I was merely pointing out that some are using the mini and liking them, but technically speaking there is no doubt the LCR is the proper match for sure. That's why I'm waiting for them. I want something that will match perfectly.

well there are people that use the C-C50 center channel with the C-300s and C-500s, even though it wasn't meant for them and have said it plays well... I am sure it can, but you may have to turn the gain on the center so it can keep up.

Man, looking back at the specs on them, I can see why bluray has 3 LCR's set up as his fronts.
With 3 Extra drivers thsi puppy uses 2 midranges also.

Hey guys, after cutting grass this morning I decided to clean out my workshop a bit and forgot I had these. Thought you might like to see some old speakers. I used these in the early 80's for some DJ work I use to do for fun. I actually used them as my front L/R speakers in my first HT set up for a short time until I got my Yamaha's. Thought you might get a kick out of these.

They are called HPM or High Power Monitor, studio series.

Congrats donaldsonjune, and by the way I noticed they do indeed sound better after the 100 hrs break-in period. I played a lot of classical and jazz through them during that time and did notice them change over time. They do sound pretty good right out of then box though.

Future Shop canceled my order. No reason no warning no nothing. Called customer service and of course they were clueless as to why but were very firm on not giving me the onsale prices....bunch of idiots. Guess I'm back in the Paradigm club...was fun to be in the Energy club while it lasted :-)

Don't you have a proof you actually ordered them on special really they are a bunch of idiots if they don't want to give it to you at that price but anyhow I know they will go back on special for sure.

Finally put my hands on my new SACD Brothers in Arms from Dire Straits, I remeber reading a review on this SACD on the web and the reviewer said I qute "You have not heard Money for Nothing until you have heard the lossless 5.1 surround sound this produces" OMG this is so true it's beyond my ears.

WOW! Truly I was impressed by the presence of the sound this SACD produces detailing like you never hear on the already good recording of the orginal cd. A detailed sound as if the band is in my living room the strigns pulled on the guitars all that in multi channel music is absolutely amazing.

Steve I know you have experienced SACD with BD and it's a no brainer after to go with it, it's like Doby Digital vs DTS-HD MA there is just no comaprison possible. You know you are getting that OPPO BDP 80 to enjoy lossless audio.

I would to it's not so hard to do if you put them in your shoes and don't they realize they are losing customers like that.

actually I was at BD house last night again, we listened to the eagles on 2.0 PCM and then to Pink Floyd on DD THD 5.1, we also listened to some music on his DIY speakers, they have full fange drivers that can play 20-18,000 hz, then he crosses them over to a super tweeter, that plays from 15k hz to about 28k hz, they were very nice. The bass was great and the overall sound was superb.

Yes I plan to get an Oppo hopefully not to long from now. I do want to listen to some SACDs on my own setup... I would love to get that now! But it will be even more sweet when I can listen to the SACDs on an NAD receiver through some Totems or Dyns....

Oh yes indeed but I swear you'll swear you have new speakers if you can get your hands on one of those BDP with an SACD. But does not mean it's not worth buying the DYns or Totems.

They like just about anything you throw at them they are pretty versatile.

I use to like that kind of music in my yonger days i'm only 34 but at 20-25 I use to go out in clubs where they played that kind of music.

I was also into Pink Floyd and classic rock but also alternative and now god surprised me buyin Michael Buble .

We all evolve with our musical taste. Some of them stay of course but we develop taste for other things.

Are you from Canada?

If not that is the only reason I can think of for them to cancel it since they don't ship outside of Canada. They should have at least sent an e-mail.. I'd you are in Canada I would het on the phone with them but their online xustomer service really sucks from my experience.

U know Oliver, I too am 34, and I used to listen to Tool, Korn, Disturbed... etc. However I am not into that anymore...

I still like Silversun Pickups, Muse, Pheonix, Foo Fighters, Incubis, Smashing Pumpkins(still), and other alternative music, but I also listen to blues (john Mayer), female vocalists(norah Jones, Tori Amos), Classical, even Christian Rock....

But I would get the Michael Buble CD also, it was cool to listen to it while auditioning the CF-70s.....
