Hey - long time lurker on here - I love checking out all your cool customs covers - even tried my hand at a Nightmare on Elm Street collection and ones for my Japanese Columbo set - but never got round to finishing them.

Two and a bit years ago I had to leave my full time job teaching film due to I’ll health and revisited an old love of mine - painting and drawing - hauling myself into the digital age with an iPad and iPencil. I have started creating artwork based on my favourite movies and music available as prints but also taking commissions to produce one off pieces for people.

Excuse the pre-amble but it just occurred to me that if anyone here wanted a genuine one-off piece to include on your custom covers I’d love to chat with you to create just the image you want for your sleeve.

You can see some of my pieces here: https://www.terriblecult.com

Thanks!

I actually was wondering if this was sarcasm. I don't make covers, but I use Gimp for photo editing. I receive much scorn for using Gimp instead of PhotoShop, etc. I understand it's probably not as powerful or sophisticated as PhotoShop, but after having used it for years, I can do just about everything that I need it to do.

No sarcasm intended. I did a little research before posting and Gimp was the one that most websites recommend as a free alternative to photoshop. I was actually thinking of downloading the program and giving it a try (I currently have an old version of photoshop elements).

I see. I suspect never having used PhotoShop, I don't really know what I'm missing by using Gimp. I'm often told that Gimp has many minute steps to accomplish the same things PhotoShop can do in a more automated fashion. In other words, apparently PhotoShop spoils you.

When I was making covers I used Gimp but sparingly, I mostly used Paint.net which isn't that bad either. I'm not one with much knowledge when it comes to programs that have multiply steps to it.

Default Star Wars UHD (WiP)

Been thinking a little about what I would do for the Star Wars films for individual covers. Decided to get started today. Here are previews of the set. Works in progress as the backs are not done yet. Mostly original one sheet art.

Mostly.

I elected to leave Leia's leg intact.

I try is the other way to see how it looks.

I sent him a message about the other poster with Luke pointing the blaster. I always preferred that poster art Best. I'm sure he will do an Excellent job as always.
