Hammer Horror Blu-ray Releases

I hope Hammer can do a deluxe edition of Captain Clegg at some point, with the proper original title taken from film elements instead of an obvious made-for-video re-do using a completely different font like in the existing releases. Surely the elements exist somewhere…? I wonder how long Indicator has the rights for.

Doubtful since that title is with Universal.

They use Evri next day delivery in the U.K. Is why they charge £5 for delivery if you don’t spend £60. Given that was the price of Quatermass this one’s free.

Mine’s at my local Evri depot, so should be here by tea time.

If you look at the tracking will tell you where it is. Evri will have mailed you as well to say on the way.

Mine was just delivered and the patch was in the box, alongside the actual item..

Maybe check again because frankly, the patch is laughably small. No way in HELL it's worth £10.

There was a glitch when I pre-ordered, which Hammer confirmed & they told me I would be sent a patch. Nothing on dispatch email or invoice, so I've emailed them.

Again a customised Hammer box, this time labelled Quatermass Xperiement.

As noted don't get excited by the patch. No way worth £10, would say £1 at most.

I actually feel a bit insulted by them claiming it's worth £10. Tarnishes what is otherwise an outstanding release.

Even on its own terms, the patch looks shit. I already ordered Q2 but in the future, I might just skip ordering direct and at least get a few quid off at rarewaves. Though, admittedly, I do kind-of like the customised packaging.

Want to know something funny about them over-inflating the worth of their "freebies"?
Consider the following: they declare the freebies on their customs forms, so international users that end up paying customs fees, pay over that increased price as well.

On one of the previous releases, I got a "press book" (basically, a single A3 sheet divided in half), which was declared as being worth almost £70, so I ended up paying VAT over that.
I also paid VAT over a free poster I didn't get.

Got the patch, but bought the poster. I have to say, that the patch is ridiculously small too. I thought to begin with, when I found it, that it was made of cardboard of some kind. Definitely not worth £10.

I regard Quatermass 1&2 as being in their top tier and its great that these films are getting the attention.
