Was Marvel concerned that Sam Wilson was going to drag them into comic book court if they didn't take some sort of affirmative comic book action?

Most studios will do almost anything to profit, and it takes people who really love the source material at every level of the company to get around that crap. That's why I'm glad the Disney suits are letting Marvel do their own thing.

Getting Morgan Freeman to play a wise old scientist is always box office gold. They couldnt hire or afford Freeman so they went with a good substitute, Reg E. Cathey, who looks and sounds like Freeman. To make his character important to the story, they made one of the FF4 members to be his son - also a black man. Sue is the adopted one.

OK if you nab Freeman I can understand that but they didn't so leave it alone.

The blood tie isn't necessary. Families are much more diverse than they were 50 years ago when these characters were created, and the filmmakers have chosen to reflect that.

Well isn't that the whole point of the Fantastic Four, an actual crime fighting family with blood ties, that's kinda the premise and crux of it.

Plus I read its actually because the director has a mixed family background so he thought he'd incorporate his experiences. So he has totally altered the comicbook source material on his own whim...not a good move.

Didn't dislike the trailer but came away feeling a bit underwhelmed. As a comic book fan I'll still be in the theater seat as a paying customer come summer time.

The studio will still get their money from me :P

I'd love another "Green Lantern" film with Reynolds and Lively; its not nearly as horrible as folks make it out to be.
