Just now I heard a bit more on that, that there’s been quite a few that have quit. Some quality Operators too, which hurts their team considerably.
I have some big expenses coming up and doing OT would help greatly.

I feel like life is flying by. Almost like a jump into hyper space.
Being middle aged, that’s not a good thing.

My wife/housemate would freak if I decided to do this overtime. She’d have to figure out the logistics of the concert trip.
Maybe I’ve just made up my mind, haha.

I’ve been playing Dark Souls 3 (NG+) since the start of the weekend. My very first play through was well over a year ago. Brings back a lot of memories, some good and some bad.

I feel like these types of opportunities always come at the wrong time.

It's like the universe would make way too much sense if you were offered this overtime when you had absolutely zero plans or obligations.

When I turn on my computer, I'm greeted with a lovely landscape picture and normally you can hover in the top right corner and it will tell you where it is. So I had this really nice picture that greeted me a few times but for some reason, it wouldn't tell me any info about where it was taken. I had selected the option to get more of those pictures so I thought maybe that had something to do with it.
Well I was just greeted with a picture of Colombia and it did tell me where it was taken. Colombia has some beautiful rain forests I think. You know what else Colombia has? Hot women that come to California and do DoorDash deliveries

I'm also thinking about this girl that helped me at the bank a couple weeks ago. I saw her again today and I'm definitely feelin her. Gave her my number so we'll see what happens. Not sure if she's single or not and even if she is, not sure she'd want to hang out but we shall see...

I almost fell for a phishing scam (I think). I got a text, supposedly from my bank, advising of a "Suspicious attempt" (someone tried to use my cc info?) at a location not far from where I live. What stopped me from proceeding was the phone number where the text originated. It had a 317 area code (Indianapolis). Now, that doesn't mean anything, really, since that could be where my bank is headquartered, but I checked my actual bank account and there were no alerts and I never got a phone call. The text I got had the exact same template that the Bank app uses for customers to log in. These motherf***ers are getting too smart

Agreed. Nothing can be trusted these days.

I remember when my Capital One information was stolen in the 2019 breach by a guy who worked there. I got a text alert saying someone tried to use my card at Instacart. I checked my account and there was no charge but rather than respond via text, I called Capital One using the number on the back of my card. Turned out someone did try to use my card and it was blocked immediately.

With all the crazy stuff happening with cybercrimes, I didn't trust that text message even though it was legit. Capital One cancelled the card and sent me another.

A few months later, someone tried to use my cancelled card at a Best Buy for $800.

First, it includes $20,000 debt cancellation for borrowers who received Pell Grants while they were in college. That applies to borrowers making less than $125,000 or $250,000 if they are part of a household. Sixty percent of borrowers, the official said, have Pell Grants, noting that the “majority of borrowers are eligible for $20,000 in relief.” The official said that a “strong majority of borrowers are folks who come from lower income, middle income."
Source - CNN.com

Would be nice if I qualify, I had the Pell for a decent amount of my time at NMSU, DACC and CNM. Think I currently owe about $32,000 in student loan debt so this would wipe out almost 2/3 of it.

I’ve been trying for places in The City where my family is and got word yesterday that my application wasn’t approved. This is the third one in a row that is supposedly pet friendly but they’ve refused me because of my FurBrat.
My dog isn’t a threat to these nice places that I have applied on and I find it odd that they likely want people with smaller dogs who in my experience are not as well behaved. They should specify that the “pet friendly “ they advertise is for small dogs, not all dogs.
Obviously I’ll keep searching and hope the frustration doesn’t get too bad.

Well after my first job, I work from 2pm to 10pm at my second job so I'll trade ya back

Just kidding of course. But I really like getting off that early. I used to work from 4am to 12:30pm and I didn't appreciate it until I started another job where I would get off at 4pm or later.

Working from 5am to 1:30pm sounds sweet. You have a whole afternoon and sunlight!!! to do whatever you want.

What do you do which allows you to work these hours? I, unfortunately, am stuck with a 9 to 5 with no escape.

Are we supposed to run to the nearest clinic and get tested for COVID every time we get the sniffles now? Last night I felt like crap. Kind of built up a general feeling of tiredness, body aches over the course of the day and, while I didn't have a fever, my entire body felt overly warm. Took a couple of Tylenol when I got home, slept and woke up feeling like new. I really don't have the time to go to clinics and those at-home tests are far from reliable. Now, if I feel like crap I keep it to myself unless I feel like I'm about to keel over, otherwise someone will demand I go get tested.

If someone creates a duplicate thread on here, why is there always someone who replies by posting the link to the original thread and nothing else? That doesn't do jack.

That is funny!
I’d like some of that but with a splash of vodka.

One of my newer Teammates is super competitive and it’s getting to me a bit.
He asked me my meters yet again and now I tell him lower than what I actually get. Unless they are low, hahaha. I don’t want him going hard at it all the time to beat me but end up fn up the tooling or the machine. He’s messed up some tooling lately including brand new drill steel that I put on last week. That’s not an easy job and is why I was chosen to do it, yet it’s his machine.
No, I can’t talk to him to get him to settle hm down. Him knowing that he’s fn up should be enough.

Sometimes I briefly think about professional athletes and the had work they put in to get to where they are. I also think about the young kids that are working hard to make it to the highest level someday. I love playing sports but I don't know if I'd love practicing them as much. I LOVE playing tennis. But I could never get myself to go out on court and practice serves. I used to love throwing the football around and running routes and while that's considered practice, I would rather just play in a game. Not sure I'd want to practice blocking or running any plays where the ball wasn't thrown to me

But really, to be so dedicated and to invest so much time and energy into something that isn't guaranteed takes a lot of heart. And fun fact, when I was in high school, I had dreams of moving to Philadelphia and becoming a professional boxer. Probably a good thing I didn't do that haha

I'm amazed that kids can put that kind of sacrifice and dedication toward a goal. I was like you, I just wanted to play. I always loved playing baseball and basketball but had no interest in being on an organized team or practicing. It was just so fun to go to someone's house and play in their driveway or backyard.
