For UHD Netflix subs, could you check season 1 of Warrior Nun and season 2 of The Order for streaming speeds. In earlier times their UHD content was 16 Mbps then I started to see a lot of 15.1 Mbps. With Nun and Order the speed is 11.44 Mbps. Checked the Netflix servers using the test in the app and it showed 220 Mbps, my plan is 300 Mbps.

Local. I called the store on Thursday to hold the items for me

I watched it when Warrior Nun first came out. All the blacks and near blacks (and there were lots of scenes like that) were atrocious. It’s far from acceptable. Amazing Atmos mix, however.

I hope Netflix release it on Bluray so I can actually watch it without cringing.

No matter how great you think it is, we know different. How do we know? We are qualified to know as we own HT. some of us are more knowledgable than others but we all have a common aim. To replicate the cinema experience as closely as possible at home. You can’t do that with streaming, full stop (or period as you guys say)

I think you are being unfair. If you sit in a boathouse outside, ensuring you are at least 30 feet away from the screen but can see through the window, and use binoculars, I think the picture will be pretty darn great and you won’t see many, if any artefacts!

Lose the binoculars; they negate the benefit of sitting that far away.

Unless you smudge them in potato peelings for that authentic experience!

Potato peelings are what you clean your TV screen with. I thought everyone knew that.

Its just filler fluff before the actual movie is played. When streaming I just try to turn off video critiquing. In the bedroom we have a 43" LG, watch from 13 feet away, leave off my spectacles and it looks "fantastic".

Purchased Hammett via Amazon streaming (real cheap with coupon) and started playing via Shield Pro and it wold not make 1080 or 1080P, stopped and switched over to the Sony UBP-X1000 and it played in 1080P after a couple of seconds. From a hardware and app perspective streaming continues to be a giant CF.

As always, I would never buy a HD stream if the title was available on BD or UHD BD!!!

This is a HD ATMOS/Dolby Vision shot with non-digital cameras. Yes you can see examples a scene requiring focus shifting because of dark environment. I am looking at this using a ATV4K to a OLED E6, and where a lot of people had displays where Arrival 4K UHD was moaned about the awful darkness issues I see a bit of the same, but I am not seeing much in the way of a lot of digital artifacts in these near black scenes. I watched about 30 mins of it so far.

What kind of setup were you using to view this dark content?

There are no 43" TVs that aren't crap IMHO, even most of those 49"" LCD/LED are poor. Taking off your glasses won't help.
The new 48" 4K OLED LG/SONY would be the first smaller TV's under 55" that does a good job of HD HDR playback.

In my case it does, not sure I could deal with it with spectacles on. A good part of what we watch on that set is old 1.33:1 stuff.

Serious watching is done in (camera is 27' from screen)

Nice HT room. I have a smaller 32” RCA from the days just before TVs went Internet in bedroom. it was expensive back then, it used to watch some HD, some SD content. Wish they would come out with small sets that were quality with all the ability to have miniLED backlighting. I would pay for quality not the junk I see now for sale.

I bought the Series Yellowstone on Amazon Prime, and I'm up to Season 3. Also watched Upload, having to do with VR and the after life that Steedeel should really enjoy. No problem on Quality they look and sound great. On Netflix I did watch some of The Old Guard, and the Will Ferrell Movie EuroVision both looked real good with no problems either.

Urgh. Lots of compression artefacts on Eurovision too especially on the sparkles of the fireworks and glitters. On the water movements too and some night scenes.

Just be thankful that you don’t know what too look for.

I see that the US Movie Theaters are closing thread just got closed, again, and probably permanently this time. That thread saw more than a couple of people get banned.

People are too tense. I'm not saying that they don't have any reason to be, but going after each other on a forum doesn't seem to be an effective coping mechanism.

I recommend having a pizza delivered and watching a favorite movie, or two, or three, with one's nice home theater. Very relaxing.
